Kentucky snapped a two-game skid by beating Mississippi State 78-65 on Tuesday night as PJ Washington scored a career-high 22 points and Kevin Knox added 19 with four three-pointers.

The Wildcats are averaging a modest 77.0 points per game (104th) while allowing 69.6 points per contest defensively (114th). Kentucky is 3-3 over their last six games while getting held to 68 points or less in each of their last three losses.

West Virginia has lost three of its last four games including its 82-73 defeat against TCU on Monday night. Star guard Jevon Carter scored a team-high 16 points and all five West Virginia starters scored in double figures, but the Mountaineers shot an uninspiring 33 percent in the loss. West Virginia made 25 of 75 shots and a putrid 7 of 27 from beyond the arc.

Kentucky Vs West Virginia Final Score Prediction

For this intriguing matchup, I’m going to advise you to back the struggling Mountaineers to snap out of their doldrums simply because they’ve been playing great defense and their shooting woes have to come to an end at some point.

The Mountaineers should be able to harass the young Wildcats into a bunch of costly turnovers, plus they’re playing at home and are completely desperate. Kentucky has gone 2-4 ATS in its last six games and West Virginia is an excellent defensive team that ranks 37th nationally in points allowed (65.8 ppg). The Wildcats are 2-2 in four road games this season while West Virginia’s 10-1 home mark says they’re very difficult to beat in Morgantown!
