A Lifelong Rivalry Hits The Hardwood In This Game

If there is one things that is unanimously known throughout both the Buckeyes and Wolverine campuses is that the dislike for one another is as strong as it’s ever been, this is one of those games that you simply do not know what will happen and everyone is always on their toes, this rivalry spans every sport between the two schools and really the only difference between the two this season is the conference wins. Michigan is ranked 10 th in the country with a 17-6 record and 9-2 in the Big Ten while after sending 3 starters to the NBA last season Ohio State is unranked for the first time in 5 years with a 19-5 record and 6-5 one in conference play.

Michigan lost in their meeting with Ohio State last year and even though they have had their share of break downs, they count on enough this season to make a good run at beating the buckeyes. They understand that they have to be much more careful and protect the basketball on offense, they seem to get careless with any type of lead so good possessions are a must. The Wolverines will have to bring their A game as they travel to Buckeye territory, offensive paint plays will be important for them and I see them battling under the rim for the loss balls.

Ohio State is a shell of who they were just a few seasons ago, they have a good amount of players who have left to the NBA and their recruiting has not been as strong as past seasons because of the Kansas, Kansas State and Blue Devils who seem to attract the better high school players based on possible draft spots. The Buckeyes might not have the competitive team they once had or enough to be ranked but you can be sure that they will fight to the death in this one to come away with the win, nothing would be sweeter to a buckeye then beating unranked and beating a ranked Michigan team on their home floor.

With all that said I think that Michigan has too much scoring power and will take this one comfortably in the second half, look for a 7+ point win with the total staying under 180.
