(12) SF Austin Lumberjacks vs. (4) UCLA Bruins

The Lumberjacks Have Everything To Prove

Funny enough in a game that the high ranked school does not have to worry all too much because in this game the Bruins are not the team to prove anything, their record and schedule speaks for itself but the Lumberjacks‚Ķ Stephan F. Austin University has everything to prove in this one. Not only do certain schools not like them because they are part of the Southland conference that gets no respect because of their lack of schedule competitiveness but because a lot of these kids are come from higher class and don’t necessarily understand what kind of struggles some kids need to make just to play basketball.

There is always a Southland team represented in the tournament, this years the Lumberjacks were selected because they went 18-0 in conference play as well as 32-2 in their season. This team prides itself in the their postgame, they have a few kids that really have the sky hook down and play from a few feet out, making it impossible to really defend. For all their height they do not rebound the ball well, something the Bruins intend to expose.

UCLA will have the pleasure of opening this tournament against an USA Conference school, most of these programs from the ACC or PAC-12 and even the Big Ten tend to really want to pick on these Southland schools. I expect the Bruins to pounce on the Lumberjacks and never letting them come up for air, they are going to defend the sky hook by getting the help defense to get a running start at any blocks they make and I think they will bully Stephan F. Austin University around under the rim where the real game is played.

Pick: Take the Bruins in this game -26, They will really look to prove a point in this game about just how much respect they have for the Southland conference schools.
