Bet Northern Kentucky +20 Because…
Northern Kentucky finished off the regular season with 6 straight wins and a 5 and 1 ATS record. The Norse beat some decent teams. Northern Kentucky took down Valparaiso 82 to 78 on Feb. 26. Valpo often wins the Horizon League. Northern Kentucky also beat Milwaukee 59 to 53 on March 7. The score in the win over Milwaukee proves that Northern Kentucky can play multiple styles of basketball.
Bet Kentucky -20 Because…
Kentucky has gotten better and better as the season has progressed. The Kentucky team that lost 92 to 97 to UCLA on Dec. 3, 2016, isn’t the same Kentucky team that starts off the NCAA Tournament this Friday. This Kentucky team dominated SEC rival Florida 76 to 66 on Feb. 25. The Wildcats ran over Georgia, Alabama, and Arkansas on their way to the SEC Tournament Title.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
Kentucky should have no trouble taking it to Northern Kentucky in this match up. The Wildcats are one of the few teams that I think can win the Final Four. Northern Kentucky, although playing well, shouldn’t put up much of a fight.
The real question is if Kentucky will cover the spread. The Norse have an excellent ATS record. But, Northern Kentucky hasn’t faced a team nearly as capable as the Kentucky Wildcats.
I don’t see the Norse keeping this one close. Kentucky is ready to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. It starts by beating Northern Kentucky by close to 30 points on Friday.
