Must Bet March Madness Games From March 16th-20th

While all eyes are on the number one seeds of this year’s NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament, here are a few games featuring Cinderella squads that can win you this week’s March Madness bets.

A Detailed Analysis of My Must Bet March Madness Games From March 16th-20th

BYU vs. Ole Miss
When: Tuesday

BYU’s Kyle Collinsworth and Tyler Haws are better offensively than anybody that Ole Miss will bring to this game. The Rebels are going to have to play defense and try and force Haws and Collinsworth into taking bad shots.

That is going to be difficult to do because both Collinsworth and Haws can make their own shot. Ole Miss is giving up close to 35% from behind the three-point line. Both Collinsworth and Haws should take advantage all night from behind the arc in this matchup.

When: Thursday

UCLA played Arizona tough in one of the Pac-12 Semifinal Conference Tournament games. The Bruins lost by only 6 points, 64 to 70, as an 11 point dog.

The Bruins face a softer opponent in Southern Methodist in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday. Although SMU’s defense is almost as good statistically as Arizona’s, the Mustangs don’t have nearly the offensive power that Arizona has. If UCLA goes into the game with the same attitude and toughness that it displayed versus the Wildcats, the Mustangs might be looking at an early NCAA Tournament exit.

North Carolina State vs. LSU
When: Thursday

North Carolina State battles LSU in a game that could determine who will most likely play Villanova on Saturday. In this battle, North Carolina State has a decided edge due to top scorer Trevor Lacey and top assist man, Anthony “Cat” Barber.

LSU’s guards are going to have tons of trouble guarding either Barber or Lacey in this matchup. If the Tigers don’t send the ball down low to Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey and those two dominate the paint, North Carolina State’s guards are going to control this one from the outset.

Valparaiso vs. Maryland
When: Friday

Valparaiso, at 28-5 straight up, is the type of team that could put a serious scare into Maryland. The Crusaders have lost only one contest in their last 11 games. They appear to be able to play any style as well since they scored 82 points versus Oakland in a win on Feb. 8 and 54 points versus Green Bay in a win on March 10.

Maryland is a very good team. The Terrapins have gone 5 and 1 straight up and 6 and 0 against the spread in their last 6 games. That bodes well for the Terrapins to cover the spread in this matchup even though they are likely to be close to a -5.5 to -6 point favorite by the time they tip it off.
