March Madness Parlay Picks March 19th

March Madness Parlay Picks March 19th

Betting on the NCAA basketball tournament is big business—an estimated $9 billion might be spent gambling on March Madness this year. With that kind of money at stake, you have to have an extra edge to win and here are my March Madness parlay picks for March 19th.

Two-Team March Madness Parlay Pick

  • Butler                          +2
  • UCLA                         +3.5

Butler vs. Texas

Analysis: Texas can be very good at times like when it almost upset Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship game in a 67 to 69 loss. The Longhorns can also be very bad at times. Texas lost 4 games in a row in February to Oklahoma, Iowa State, West Virginia and Kansas.

One has to believe that Butler is as good if not better than West Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas because Butler played in the Big East where they battled Villanova, Georgetown, Providence and Xavier. Butler has a player in Kris Dunham that nobody on Texas’ team can match up with.

UCLA vs. SMU

Analysis: SMU’s defense is very good. It allows only 59.8 points from 38% shooting from the fieldand 32% shooting from behind the three-point line. The Mustangs’ defense is the reason that they are a sixth seed in the NCAA Tournament.

But UCLA is used to playing against top defenses. The Bruins barely lost to Arizona, who might have a better defense than SMU’s, in a Pac-12 semifinal game. The Bruins played to a 64 to 70 loss as a +11 point dog. Up to that game, the Bruins had won 4 straight including beating USC 96 to 70.

Three-Team March Madness Parlay Pick

  • Butler                          +2
  • UCLA                         +3.5
  • Stephen F. Austin       +6.5

Stephen F. Austin vs. Utah

Analysis: Here we go with a tough 12 versus 5 matchup. UCLA’s top player, Delon Wright, was money versus Stanford in the Pac-12 Tournament from behind the arc. He went 4 for 4. Versus Oregon, Wright was 1 for 1 from behind the arc.

Even if Wright is hot from behind the 3 point line, Stephen F. Austin has the player to counter Wright in Thomas Walkup. Walkup averages 15.7 points, 6.4 boards and 3.7 assists per game. He could dominate the Utes in this matchup. If he does, Stephen F. Austin might pull off the money line upset.

Four-Team March Madness Parlay Pick

  • Butler                          +2
  • UCLA                         +3.5
  • Stephen F. Austin       +6.5
  • Wofford                      +7.5

Wofford vs. Arkansas

Analysis: Wofford is another 12 with a good shot at upsetting a 5 on the money line. Arkansas can slow down the pace, but, when they do, they usually have trouble. The 60 to 49 win over Georgia in the SEC Tournament was the exception. The rule is usually more like the 63 to 78 loss to Kentucky.

Arkansas has to get their running game going versus Wofford who can play any style, but is extremely patient on offense and defense. If the Razorbacks are forced into a half-court game, Wofford will not only cover the spread, but they’ll have a good shot at winning the game outright in the final 2 minutes.
