Arkansas can get enough transition baskets.
Arkansas was in big danger of losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday to Wofford, a team that they were favored by 7.5 points to beat. The Razorbacks fell into Wofford’s slow-down, methodically paced trap.
Bobby Portis: 611 pts & 307 rebounds so far this year. Is the first player in @RazorbackMBB history to get 600+ pts & 300+ rebs in a season.

The Razorbacks had been showing signs of playing slow since the SEC Tournament. They only beat Georgia 60 to 49. They lost to Kentucky 63 to 78. Although some Arkansas fans may think that playing slow is the way to go, it almost cost the Hogs a win in the first round. If they try and slow down versus North Carolina, instead of pushing for transition baskets, Arkansas isn’t going to come close to covering the spread on Saturday. The Razorbacks need to get out and get buckets in transition. That’s what made them successful during the regular season.

North Carolina Will Cover the 4.5-point Spread If
The Tar Heels defense steps it up against Arkansas.
North Carolina did beat Harvard to advance in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday. But, it wasn’t a very pretty victory. After jumping out to a lead, North Carolina’s defense sort of fell apart. The Tar Heels couldn’t stop the Crimson from breaking down their defense and scoring enough to put a scare into the baby-blue faithful.

North Carolina barely beat Harvard 67 to 65. The Crimson scored 40 points to North Carolina’s 31 inthe second half. If NC shows up on Saturday with the same kind of defensive effort that they displayed on Thursday, Arkansas could blow out North Carolina. It was pitiful. North Carolina shot a stunning 55.1% from the field and 71.4%, 5 out of 7, from behind the arc. But, because the defense couldn’t make enough stops, Harvard took 55 shots from the field to North Carolina’s 49, the Tar Heels almost lost the game. If North Carolina doesn’t step up the D, for both halves, they definitely won’t cover the spread versus Arkansas.
