The March Madness Sweet 16 is here and if you are on the hunt for a few upset betting picks then look no further. After analyzing the remaining teams, I firmly believer two Sweet 16 games will feature an upset. I am recommending you go all in on my pair of Sweet 16 upset picks now.
Is North Carolina’s fans due for a letdown when their team battles the Butler Bulldogs? How’s Florida going to play versus tough Wisconsin in Madison Square Garden? Check out the two games where I think Sweet 16 upsets are bound to happen.
March Madness Sweet 16 Upset Picks
North Carolina vs Butler Bulldogs
When: Thursday, March 23
Where: FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN
Analysis: I wasn’t overly enthusiastic with North Carolina’s 72 to 65 win over Arkansas. I think Arkansas blew their chance to upset the Tar Heels. It looks like there’s always a point at which North Carolina loses its concentration as a team.
That’s why I think Butler takes down the Tar Heels on Thursday. Butler has surprised me in this tournament. The Bulldogs covered a -11-point spread versus Winthrop in Round 1 with a 76 to 64 win. That was impressive.
What was more impressive is how Butler beat one of the supposedly top Cinderella teams in this tournament, Middle Tennessee State, 74 to 65 on March 18. Only 2.5 points favored Butler in the game.
I am betting Butler beats North Carolina straight up to make it to the Elite Eight.
March Madness Sweet 16 Upset Pick: Butler SU
Florida vs Wisconsin
When: Friday, March 24
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Analysis: Florida was brilliant when they held Virginia to 39 points in a 65 to 39 Round 2 win as a -2 favorite. But, let’s be honest, Florida’s defense was that effective mainly because it battled one of the worst offensive teams in the NCAA Tournament.
Not only that but Duke and Florida State also lost in Round 2. Could it be that the ACC was overrated going into March Madness? Yes, it could.
There are many reasons to go for Wisconsin in this game. Against the spread, the Badgers, although they’re the 8 seed, might be favored by the time they tip the game off. The line is around 1 to 1.5 points. It figures to change from that.
It doesn’t matter. Wisconsin is the play against Florida no matter if they’re favored ATS or not. The Badgers should beat Florida by at least 6 points.
The main reason is because of Bronson Koenig and Nigel Hayes. Both players have deep NCAA Tournament experience. That’s going to help the Badgers get past the Gators.
