Bet Michigan State +2.5 Because…
Tom Izzo, Sparty’s coach, is one of the best college basketball coaches of all time. He doesn’t have his best team ever, but it may not matter. Izzo has done a lot with little before. Who’s to say that this season isn’t one of those times when Izzo works his magic and takes Michigan State on a deep run in the NCAA Tournament?
Bet Miami -2.5 Because…
After battling their ACC rivals, Michigan State should be a cakewalk. Miami played very well during the ACC Regular Season. They beat Duke 55 to 50 on Feb. 24. They beat Virginia 54 to 48 in overtime on Feb. 20. The Hurricanes only lost by 5 points to Louisville, 66 to 71, on the road on Feb. 11. Miami is a good team.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
I don’t think Izzo’s got enough to work with to upset a team like the Miami Hurricanes. I agree that Tom Izzo is one of the best coaches to ever walk onto a college campus. No argument there.
But, Izzo’s squad lost 14 games this season, and it was a down season for the Big Ten. Rival Michigan rocked Michigan State 86 to 57 on Feb. 7. The Spartans lost 70 to 73 to Illinois on March 1. Purdue ransacked Sparty with a 17-point blowout win, 80 to 63, on Feb. 18.
Michigan State hasn’t just lost games this season, the Spartans have been destroyed this season. Sparty hasn’t been competitive enough to beat a tough ACC squad like Miami. I think the Hurricanes win by at least 10 points.
