The Florida Gators have split their 4 games since they last played Ole Miss on Jan 24th while the Rebels have won 5 in a row including that January game and with a rematch on the horizon can will the Gators avenge the loss or will the Rebels push their win streak to 6?
This is the 4th win streak of 5 games or more against SEC foes under AK. Ole Miss posted 5 such streaks in the 71 years before his arrival.

Ole Miss Will Cover the Spread If
The Rebels’ offense can break down the Gators’ D.
In the last game between these two, Ole Miss did a good job breaking down the Florida Gators’ defense. The Rebels shot 44.6% from the field when making 25 of 56 shots. They also took 10 more shots than Florida’s offense, which only took 46 shots.
That was the difference because even though Ole Miss shot a lower percentage than Florida did, they took 10 more shots and they did a good job at making sure they got enough open looks to win the game by a point, 72 to 71. Ole Miss usually shoots only 43.8% from the field.
If they can get close to what they did in the first matchup against the Gators, this game will be tight again. If Ole Miss can improve upon their 28.6% from behind the arc, which is what they shot in the first game versus the Gators, they should easily cover the spread.

Florida Will Cover the Spread If
Florida’s offense can score more points.
It’s strange to say because so many people think that defenses win championships, and maybe there is some validity to that statement, but the truth is that if you can’t score in basketball, you’re not going to win a lot of games. Florida has an issue where it can’t score.
Its defense is allowing 59.7 points per game on average. Opponents only shoot 40.7% against the Gators, but Florida only averages 65.8 points per game itself. When it tried to score with Ole Miss in the first matchup, they ended up losing. But really, that’s the best way for Florida to cover the spread.
The Gators should try to get as many possessions as the Rebels and shoot 47.8% from the field like they did in the first matchup. If that happens, Florida will not only cover the spread, but they might get an impressive victory and they need as many of those as they can get in order to garner a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
