(2) Arizona Wildcats vs. Arizona State Sun Devils

Records Don’t Matter In This Game

After suffering their first loss of the season top ranked Arizona fell to the second spot overall in the Nation but looks to get right back on track in this one. Facing their state rival Arizona State the Wildcats know that whatever record the Sun Devils have will make no difference in this game, these schools are almost within walking distance from one another and their fan base really make it clear who they prefer. I really think this will be a high volatile game with a lot on the line for the Wildcats, Arizona State will do everything they can to steal this game.

Arizona needs to bring everything they have to the court for this battle, the Sun Devils are the closest school to them and know exactly how they play, they also have pickup games outside of school which allows for the players to know each other well. This game will be filled with fuel and it will be interesting to see if it´s a close one just how the Wildcats react to the State fans. I hope to see a high pressure defense from Arizona out of the gate, I think they will try to bully the Sun Devils on the inside paint and look to be very aggressive around the rim.

For Arizona State, they have nothing to lose, coming into this game with the chip on their shoulder and something important to prove will give them an added sense of motivation to make the extra play or be as physical as they can. The main focus for the Sun Devils in this game will be to man up on defense, not allow the Wildcats to bully them under the rim or over power them, they need to take great care of the basketball, limit their turnovers and play smart offense, moving the ball and looking for the point of entry.

I still think that this will be a very close game as well as very entertaining, but in the end, the Wildcats have too good of a front court and they will pull away, I have them winning this game in their state by 5+ points with the total going over the 155 mark.
