I am looking forward to watching this game because of the playing style that each of these teams brings to the court, the Huskies are a setup first offense that pushes the ball in transition while the Tigers play more of a free flowing form of basketball as they run the floor and start their offense from their post game. It will be very interesting to see how they defend one another in this game given the radical styles, either way this will be a running game between the guards as they sprint and look for their spot up shooting favorite spots.
Connecticut fell out of the top 25 a few weeks ago when they lost back to back games to unranked teams, in Stanford and SMU. They only have three losses so they have a chance to pull their socks up and make it to the big dance in March. For this game I think that the Huskies need to actually go against the grain, slow the game down, move the ball well and try to control the clock as they look for the opening.
Memphis comes into this game ranked 11 th overall in the country with a lot at stack, this is the type of game that could really hurt them because Connecticut is a hard team to beat and losing to them being unranked with surly affect their standings. I´ll expect the Tigers to come into this game at home ready to make a statement, they will push the tempo and look to attack the rim as much as possible early looking for the and one or foul. I see the Tigers pulling away from the Huskies late in the second half and winning this game by at least 6.
