Tennessee Has A Huge Opportunity To Reach The Elite 8

This will be the most watched college basketball game come Friday night, as a former #1 ranked Wolverines team, now 2nd overall, receive the #11 ranked Volunteers. This game will have some of the best offensive sets you will ever see in college hoops as the second best offense takes on one of the elite defenses in the country.

(11) Tennessee Volunteers vs. (2) Michigan Wolverines
The (11) Tennessee Volunteers and the (2) Michigan Wolverines meet this Friday in the College Hoops Sweet Sixteen.
Starts: 03/28/2014 7:10PM
Lucas Oil Stadium, 500 South Capitol Ave.

The Tennessee Volunteers lost two games early in the year but seem to have bounced back very well with their elite defensive style. Same goes for Michigan only on the offensive side but with the way things are going in this year’s tournament anything is possible, it seems like upsets are around every corner. Tennessee must really stay calm in this game, moving the ball and rotating well on defense will allow the help to cover the baseline.

The Wolverines are led on the court by guard Nik Stauskas, who not only leads his team in points scored per game at 17.4 but also in assists with 3.3. They have a great rebounding core and they love to run the ball, they also have had a very hard schedule this past season that has really helped with their confidence. They really have to dig deep and push these Volunteers around, block out under the rim and really attack, looking for the foul; settling for jumpers will be the way to get through this game.

Pick: I have to admit that as much as I like the Wolverines style of play and aggressiveness I also have to recognize that Tennessee really has the momentum coming into this game along with the experience. Take the Volunteers in this one as the 11th seeded Volunteers will move on.
