Tonight’s Men’s College Basketball Parlay Betting Picks

Building a parlay isn’t always easy in men’s college basketball betting, but I have four picks in the early part of the week that are worth a gander. That’s right – a gander. All games are slated for Tuesday, March 4th with game times listed next to the matchup. Check your local listings for the broadcast schedule and head over to the sportsbook the day of to see the actual game lines. Home team in caps as usual.

The Florida Gators and the South Carolina Gamecocks meet in an SEC matchup.
Starts: 03/04/2014 7:00PM
Colonial Life Arena, 801 Lincoln Street
Columbia, South Carolina

The Gators refuse to let go of that top spot in the men’s college basketball rankings, even though their overall popularity makes it difficult for me to include them in my parlay betting picks. Florida clobbered LSU over the weekend 79-61 in a game I truly expected the Tigers to be competitive. Billy Donovan has his boys primed. It’s obvious that they mean business.

Which is ultimately problematic for the Gamecocks, who are just 4-6 SU and 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall. South Carolina emerged as a bit of a giant killer by usurping Kentucky over the weekend 72-67 but that’s a bit misleading. The Gamecocks have also lost recent home games against Auburn and Georgia. The key for Florida is limiting the production of guar Brenton Williams, who has registered games of 29, 26 and 24 points in three of his last four outings.

This is a tough matchup in that South Carolina has proven to have some fight in them, but make no mistake about these Gators. They do not have the weak, intestinal fortitude that Kentucky has displayed all season. They’ll trounce South Carolina to reiterate the message that’s been clear all year long – the SEC belongs to Florida.

#12 Michigan Wolverines over ILLINOIS FIGHTING ILLINI
The Michigan Wolverines and the Illinois Fighting Illini will hit the hard court in the Big Ten matchup.
Starts: 03/04/2014 7:00PM
State Farm Center, 1800 S. First Street
Champaign, Illinois

Don’t overthink this one. In fact, this may be the best game involving a ranked team on Tuesday night to lump in to your men’s college basketball parlay betting picks. Illinois is a brutal 1-3 SU and ATS when playing at home this season, and that lone win was over Nebraska (translation: whoop-dee-freaking-do). Michigan tends to be a problematic commodity on the road, but they’ll be more attractive as a road team against conference canon fodder.

GEORGETOWN HOYAS over #10 Creighton Bluejays
The Georgetown Hoyas take on the Creighton Bluejays on Tuesday night.
Starts: 03/04/2014 7:00PM
Verizon Center Washington DC, 601 F Street NW
Washington, DC

Man that 7pm timeslot is loaded! Creighton has become a very troubling play in men’s college basketball betting lately, going just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games. And the problem is that they’ve become such a bloated, public commodity that they’re facing unfair lines. Of course, losing 69-75 to Xavier over the weekend as -2.5 favorites hardly seems ludicrous but it cemented what many have been thinking lately – Creighton was better as a moderate dog than they’ve been as a moderate favorite.

Georgetown may not have gained your trust as a competitive team, but they’re a sneaky asset in the Big East where they’ve gone 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games. The Hoyas aren’t nearly as competitive as they have been in past years, but they still recruit solid talent. Against Creighton, they’ll have very attractive odds as a home dog.

Alabama Crimson Tide over #25 KENTUCKY WILDCATS
The Alabama Crimson Tide face the Kentucky Wildcats in a SEC matchup.
Starts: 03/04/2014 9:00PM
Rupp Arena, 430 West Vine St.
Lexington, Kentucky

I mean, I don’t want to tell you to bet against Kentucky in this matchup but this team has left me no choice. Alabama is an awful 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 road games and have been one of the worst plays to take in all of men’s college basketball betting. But if as road dogs, they’ll have a huge cushion here and Kentucky has been miserable against the spread lately which is why I can’t encourage them in my own parlay picks. Kentucky is just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games and have also been pushed to overtime in their last two home stands…by Arkansas and LSU. I mean, if that doesn’t push you to bank on Alabama in your own men’s college basketball parlay betting picks then I don’t know what will.
