College Basketball Best Bets This Weekend

With the final weekend of the 2016-17 NCAA college basketball regular season is here. It’s time for a round of season-ending expert college basketball betting picks. Four nationally-ranked title contenders will look to cap off their respective regular seasons with momentum-building victories, so let’s find out where the value is in my trio of weekend college hoops pick.

What Are College Basketball’s Best Bets This Weekend

No. 24 Iowa State (20-9) at No. 10 West Virginia (23-7)
When: Friday, March 3rd, 2017, 2017 at 7:00 PM ET
Where: WVU Coliseum, Morgantown, West Virginia
TV: EPN2

Analysis: West Virginia overpowered Iowa State in their 85-72 road win on Jan. 31 to easily cash in as a 2-point road favorite, but this time around, I like the Cyclones to extract some revenge by getting the narrow road win.

Iowa State has gone 5-1 ATS in their last six games against their Big 12 rivals and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight up win. Conversely, the Mountaineers are jus 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games overall.

Pick: Iowa State 77 West Virginia 75

No. 9 Kentucky at Texas A&M
When: Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at 12:00 PM ET
Where: Reed Arena, College Station, Texas
TV: CBS

Analysis: Kentucky has won eight consecutive games, making the Wildcats the ‘super easy’ pick to win this matchup, seeing as how they beat the hell out of Texas A&M 100-58 on Jan. 3 to cash in as a 14.5-point home favorite. This time around, the Wildcats will likely be favored by at least 10 points, but it won’t matter as Kentucky wins by 20.

Pick: Kentucky 89 Texas A&M 69

No. 2 Villanova (27-3) at Georgetown (14-16)
When: Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at 12:00 PM ET
Where: Verizon Center, Washington, District of Columbia

Analysis: The Villanova Wildcats have won eight of their last nine games and are locks to beat Georgetown in this Big East regular season finale. However, the Wildcats could fail to cover the spread just like they did in their 75-64 home win over the Hoyas as a 14.5-point home favorite on Feb. 7.

If the spread for this matchup tops a dozen points, I say play the Hoyas to narrowly cover as Villanova wins by ‘just’ 10 points.

Pick: Villanova 76 Georgetown 66
