Why Bet The Washington Huskies To Beat The Scarlet Knights

Washington took the nation by storm going 12-2 last season, winning the Pac-12 and reaching the College Football Playoffs. This year expectations are sky high.

HC Chris Petersen is tempering the expectations, insisting the talented squad isn’t reloading but is instead rebuilding.

“Because you start from scratch,” Petersen said Monday. “This is not even kind of the same team it was last year. The program is similar in the things we believe in. But this is a new team, so we rebuild the team every year. We rebuild a new team every week because you’re different week-to-week.

“You win, it feels different. You lose, it feels different. And so there’s a different mindset and psychology with that. So we don’t reload, we rebuild week-to-week. People can say whatever they want to say, but I know what our mindset is, and I know what I want it to be.”

Quarterback Jake Browning is a Heisman Trophy candidate from day one this season. Last season he destroyed defenses with a total of 3430 yards and 43 touchdowns. Browning was intercepted only nine times in 2016.

Browning underwent offseason surgery on his passing shoulder but has fully recovered. This is his chance to prove he is 100%.

Why Bet The Rutgers Scarlet Knights To Beat The Huskies

Rutgers couldn’t stop Browning last season as he passed for 287 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-13 victory in the first meeting between the schools. New head coach Chris Ash will attempt to change the Scarlet Knights fortunes.

The biggest change after the head coach is new starting QB Kyle Bolin, a fifth-year transfer from Louisville. Bolin will be making his seventh career start. He has passed for 2,104 yards in 17 career games.

“Kyle has been very impressive in his short time here,” Ash said.

Rutgers averaged only 15.8 points per game in 2016. Can Bolin solve their offensive woes?

If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On:

  • Huskies are 7-3 ATS in their last ten games in September.
  • Huskies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Friday games.
  • Scarlet Knights are 22-7 ATS in their last 29 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.
