As the official march madness tournament gets under way opening the bracket in the West in the top spot we find the Arizona Wildcats as a number one overall seeded team. They will have the pleasure of receiving another Wildcats team from Weber State who slipped into the tournament because of their 13-6 conference record but did not have the best season with an overall record of 14 and 9 going 7-5 in their last 12 games. Arizona will look to play a high tempo game, pushing the ball up the court and really trying to intimidate the younger Wildcats.
Arizona is looking at this game with the understanding that almost every year there is a top seeded team that does not prepare or is too confident and they end up going home in a huge upset. For this game not to go that way the Wildcats need to control the clock and really play hard, dunk the ball and push the smaller forwards from Weber State around under the basket to demand respect. Arizona really should not lose this game and I think they will learned there non preparation lesson after losing to un-ranked Arizona State.
Weber State is a small school making their first tournament in the last 5 seasons. They know that it´s a big task in front of them as Arizona has played and beaten some of the best programs around but they also have been beaten. The Weber state Wildcats will be watching film on Arizona´s losses this season to see what they can adapt in their game to be successful. I still think that in the end Arizona will overtake the younger Wildcats because of their speed and ability to score the ball in transition offense; they are much bigger and much faster and will advance in this non fairy tale ending game.
