Baylor Vs Iowa State Spread & ATS Pick

This Week’s Men’s College Basketball Games to Bet On

Welcome to crunch time in the 2014-15 college basketball season and all eyes are on the undefeated and untested Kentucky Wildcats and only 8 games stand between them and the post season. Who can challenge John Calipari’s mighty Wildcats?

Virginia, who had been putting up the W’s on pace withe Kentucky, lost a week ago, to Duke, after starting the season 19-0.

Speaking of Duke, could they challenge Kentucky for college hoops supremacy? The Blue Devils just routed 10th-ranked Notre Dame 90-60 on the back of a 43 to seven run.

College Hoops Best Bets This Week

Best Bet – No. 15 West Virginia at No. 11 Iowa State, Feb. 14 at 4:00pm ET, ESPN2

Iowa State has covered in their last 2 games at home where the offense appears to be much better than it is on the road. The Cyclones had a 19 point lead versus Texas four games ago, but they failed to keep the lead and ended up not covering by a point in an 86 to 83 victory. That would have made it 3 straight home game spreads being covered.

West Virginia is a mess. Oklahoma beat them 71 to 52 in a road game. Then, in a home contest and as a -5.5 point favorite over Baylor, the Mountaineers didn’t even show up losing 69 to 87. Iowa State should roll.

Pick:  Iowa State

Runner Up Best Bet – Stanford at No. 13 Utah, Feb. 12 at 9:00 pm ET, Pac-12 Net

Stanford is 4 and 4 against the spread on the road while Utah is a terrific 9 and 3 against the spread at home. Stanford has been playing well due to the magic of Coach Johnny Dawkins, who has gotten his team to really believe in itself.

But, Stanford’s offense, which averages 75 points and 45% shooting from the field, could be in some trouble versus Utah who has a suffocating defense, 56 points and 37% shooting allowed per game. Expect Utah to really disrupt anything that Dawkins wants his fellas to accomplish on the offensive end. This game could be a blow-out.

Pick:  Utah

Miss Congeniality Best Bet – No. 12 North Carolina at Pittsburgh, Feb. 12 pm ET, ESPN3

North Carolina is 2-7-1 against the spread in their last 10 games. That’s absolutely horrendous. They are 4 and 3 against the spread in their road games, but they’ve got a depth issue. Unless Marcus Paige and Brice Johnson take the game over, North Carolina is vulnerable to being upset.

Pittsburgh proved versus Notre Dame that they can play basketball with the big boys. More importantly, they’ve won 3 games in a row at home and have gone 3 and 1 against the spread in their last 4 home games. The only ATS home loss was to Georgia Tech by a single point.

Pick:  Pittsburgh
