California Golden Bears vs. (11) UCLA Bruins

The Golden Bears have really not gotten off to a good start this season as they have found themselves in the bottom of the Pac-12 conference with only 1 win on the year, they lost most of their defensive play makers to last year’s NFL draft, this season they have just not been able to stop a mouse from running through their line. The Bruins have actually turned their season around from last year and started off 5-0 with big wins over #23 Nebraska and Utah, ranking them 11th overall.

Cal has one of the worst schedules in college football; they have had their backs against the wall in every game having played two top 5 teams already.

QB Jared Goff has had a decent season so far with 1821 passing yards and 9 touchdowns but he has turned the ball over 5 times as well, he seems to lack confidence. The defense has been terrible, giving up 45 points a game, nothing much to do when you can’t stop anyone, they need to plug the holes on defense and force the Bruins to throw the ball.

UCLA is on a tear as they beat out schools left and right, they have the 30th best defense to go along with the 5th best offense scoring almost 50 points a game. They are top 15 in both their running attack and passing game, QB Brett Hundley has really come alive and stepped up to the plate, passing for 1059 yards and scoring 9 touchdowns he has shown an ability to stand in the pocket like a great. I expect this team to dominate the Golden Bears in this game; the defense will set the stage for what I think will be a passing workshop.

What to Expect:

The Bruins are -25 in this game and given that both schools are very close to each other it won’t be exactly a home game, still that will not fade them as they push the Golden Bears against the wall yet again, UCLA will not only cover but I expect them to blanket Cal and leave them at 0. My opinion is to take the total over 56 and the favorite, this will be a hard game to watch if you’re a golden bear fan.
