The Baylor Bears will enter the 2015 regular season looking to, not only stay among the very elite teams in the nation after losing starting quarterback Bryce Petty, but take another step forward in their quest to reach the four-team playoff after falling just short last season.
The SMU Mustangs are heading in a new direction as they get set for the start of the Chad Morris era. The Mustangs went 1-11 last season under two head coaches after June Jones quit four games into the season.
The good news is that Morris, the former offensive coordinator, comes to SMU with glowing credentials that include being the highest paid assistant coach in the country.
Unfortunately, the Mustangs return only 11 starters from last season’s squad and will have to learn brand new schemes on both sides of the ball.

Head coach Art Briles has turned his Baylor Bears program into one of the best in the nation, thanks to an offense that perennially puts up points in droves. If you didn’t know, Baylor has averaged over 40 points a game in four consecutive seasons.
While the Bears have to replace a rally gifted starter in quarterback Bryce Petty, I must say that I really like Seth Russell in the limited action I’ve seen and I believe he’s going to do a fine job replacing Petty this coming season.
Underrated running back Shock Linwood rushed for 1,252 yards and 16 touchdowns a year ago and the Bears have arguably the nation’s best starting wide receivers in Corey Coleman (1.119 yards, 11 TDs) and KD Cannon (1,030 yards, 8 TDs).

Bet On Baylor To Beat SMU By A Score Of: Baylor 45 SMU 21
I think Chad Morris will do a fine job in Dallas this coming season, but right now, this all-Texas matchup goes to the boys from Waco. Baylor wins and covers the spread with a bit of room to spare as they look to make an early impression on the BCS playoff committee.
