Week 4 Moneyline Upset Picks College Football

Bet Oregon Vs Utah Online Football Betting Lines

Oregon looks to continue its march into the College Football Playoff this Saturday when it battles 22 Utah on the road in an important Pac 12 matchup.

Oregon has been absolutely brilliant since losing 24 to 31 to Arizona on Oct. 2. Since the loss, Oregon has gone 4 and 0 both straight up and against the spread. The team from Autzen has covered some seriously large spreads as well like -21 versus Washington and -17.5 versus California on the road.

But Oregon faces perhaps their sternest test to date in taking on Utah in Salt Lake City on Nov. 8. Can Oregon continue to impress the Selection Committee or will Utah put a stop to Oregon’s march to the College Football Playoff.

Oregon Vs Utah Online Football Betting Lines Analysis:

The Ducks’ offense, like in every season, is one of the best in college football. It averages an incredible 533.8 yards per game that leads to an average of 45.4 points per game. Out of those 533.8 yards, 305.8 are through the air and 228 are from the rushing attack.

Oregon’s offense begins and ends with Heisman Trophy candidate Marcus Mariotta. Mariotta has passed more than he’s run this season and it’s not only showing up in the stats, but it’s also impressing NFL scouts. While Mariotta has rushed for 410 yards, a 5.8 average per rush, and 7 touchdowns, he’s passed for 2541 yards and he’s thrown 26 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions. Mariotta is completing 68% of his passes and his pass per attempt yard average is an awesome 10.2. If there is a better football player out there than Marcus Mariotta, he’s going to be hard for Heisman Trophy voters to find.

Mariotta has to be brilliant in most games, though, because Oregon’s defense hasn’t really been all that great this season. The Ducks are yielding 458.6 yards and 24 points per game. That’s just not going to cut it when or if Oregon makes it into one of the four spots in the College Football Playoff.

It might not cut it against Utah when it comes to covering the spread this Saturday. Utah’s offense is averaging 337 yards and 33 points per game. The Utes rush for 198 yards per game, which is bad news for Oregon’s defense because the Ducks give up 167 rushing yards per contest on average.

Utah is also one of the better defensive teams in the Pac 12. The Utes allow only 385 yards and 21 points per contest. Teams rush for only 128 yards per contest against the Utes terrific defense.

When it comes to the trends, both Oregon and Utah are covering machines. Utah is 7 and 0 against the spread versus a team with a winning record and 5 and 1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS victory. Oregon is 10 and 2 against the spread in their last 12 road games versus a team with a winning home record.

This game should come down to Utah’s ability to control the clock with its rushing attack against Oregon’s defense, thereby, keeping Oregon’s offense off the field. If the Utes can do that, they’ll only need a few stops in order to keep this game within the number.

That’s the bet, on the home dog Utah Utes to cover the spread.
