College Football ATS Betting Analysis Week 5

Thursday, Sep. 26

Navy at Memphis -13 ½

Memphis is only 1-1 ATS at home this season. They’re averaging 34.3 points and only allowing 13.3, though. The Tigers should get it done at home versus a tough but overmatched Midshipmen squad.

Pick: Memphis

Saturday, Sep. 28

Texas A&M-22 vs. Arkansas

Texas A&M lost both of its two marquee games so far this season against Auburn and Clemson. No worries heading into Week 5 because they face the atrocious Arkansas Razorbacks. A&M is 3-1 ATS while Arkansas is 1-3 ATS. The Aggies roll.

Pick: Texas A&M

Northwestern at Wisconsin -22

Wisconsin has been as impressive this season as their more high-profile Big Ten peer, Ohio State. Not only that, but the Badgers have a quality win over Michigan to show for it. How good is Wisconsin? They’re much better than -22 favorites over Northwestern, that’s for sure. The Badgers have only allowed 14 points in 12 quarters of football. They might beat the Wildcats by 50.

Pick: Wisconsin

Texas Tech at Oklahoma -24

There are a few rules to live by in college football handicapping. One of those rules is to never back a team ATS that scores less than 24 points against the Arizona Wildcats. The Red Raiders scored only 14 in a loss in Week 4. So, yeah, Oklahoma wins and covers.

Pick: Oklahoma

Indiana at Michigan State -14

Hoosiers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games and 0-7 ATS in the last 7 meetings at Michigan State. That makes this the best trend handicapping play on Saturday.

Pick: Michigan State

USC at Washington -8

USC beat a terrific team in Utah in Week 4. Unfortunately, they lost yet another quarterback when Kedon Slovis went down. It’s hard to beat Washington the road. It’s impossible to keep it close with your third-string quarterback.

Pick: Washington

Mississippi at Alabama -32 ½

There are few things that make Nick Saban more happy than dominating the Ole Miss Rebels. Saban won’t take Tua out of this one before Bama goes up by 42 points.

Pick: Alabama

Clemson -28 ½ at North Carolina

North Carolina had trouble keeping Appalachian State from lighting them up. On Sep. 28 they face the number one team in college football. Domination time.

Pick: Clemson

Virginia at Notre Dame -11

Notre Dame probably should have upset Georgia on the road in Week 4. Not that what happened in that game matters in regards to handicapping this one. The bottom line is that UVA won’t stop ND’s offense. Golden Domers by 17 to 24.

Pick: Notre Dame
