College Football Bowl Season Christmas Week Parlay Picks

My 2015 College Football Bowl Season parlay picks for Christmas Week are all about the mismatches. San Diego State takes on Cincinnati in the Hawaii Bowl as a slight dog. In the Russell Athletic Bowl, North Carolina battles Baylor. The other parlay game has Pac 12 USC taking on Big Ten Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl. Don’t forget to cash in using my Bonus 6-Team college football bowl season parlay pick at the end of my post!

College Football Bowl Season 2-Team Parlay Pick

  • San Diego State  -1.5
  • No. 11 North Carolina +1.5

Hawai’i Bowl
What: San Diego State Aztecs (10-3) at Cincinnati Bearcats (7-5)
When: Thursday, December 24, 2015
Kickoff: 8:00 PM ET
Where: Honolulu, HI
Stadium: Aloha Stadium
Spread: San Diego State -1.5
Moneyline: San Diego +105 vs Cincinnati -154
Game Total: 57

Listen: San Diego vs Cincinnati

Analysis: More often than not, Cincinnati’s offense plays well in football games. The Bearcats average 559.4 total yards per game. The yardage includes 373.1 passing yards per game. But, as good as the Bearcats’ offense is at moving the ball it’s not all that great at scoring point. The Bearcats only average a bit more than 36 points per game.

That could lead to Cincinnati’s downfall to San Diego State on Christmas Eve. In San Diego State, the Bearcats offense faces a defense that gives up an average of 17.2 points and 287.9 yards per game. The Aztecs have arguably been the most impressive team in college football since Oct. 3. They’ve gone 9 and 0 straight up and 7-1-1 ATS in that span. The Aztecs win this.

Pick: San Diego State -1.5

What: Russell Athletic Bowl

Listen: North Carolina vs Baylor

Analysis: This is a huge mismatch. On paper, it looks like Baylor should play tough against North Carolina. But, a deep dive into the stats says otherwise. North Carolina’s offense averages 486.9 yards and 40.9 points per game. QB Marquise Williams completes 61.3% of his passes. He can also run with the football.

Baylor is going to have a tough time keeping up with NC’s offense in this because the Bears are down to their third string and fourth string quarterbacks. On offense the Bears are one-dimensional. They run the ball much more than they throw the football. North Carolina defensive coordinator Gene Chizik knows this. He’ll have the D ready.

Pick: North Carolina +1.5

College Football Bowl Season 3-Team Parlay Pick

  • San Diego State  -1.5
  • No. 11 North Carolina +1.5
  • Wisconsin +3

What: Holiday Bowl
Who: No. 25 USC Trojans (8-5) at Wisconsin Badgers (9-3)
When: Wednesday, December 30, 2015
Kickoff: 10:30 PM ET
Where: San Diego, CA
Stadium: Qualcomm Stadium
Spread: USC -3
Moneyline: USC -154 vs Wisconsin +125
Game Total: 51.5
Watch: ESPN

Listen: USC vs Wisconsin

Analysis: At times during the season, Southern California has looked like the best team in the Pac 12. The Trojans obliterated Utah 42 to 24 at home on Oct. 24. On Nov. 28, the Trojans destroyed rival UCLA 40 to 21. But at other times, USC looked downright terrible. The 22 to 41 loss to Stanford in the Pac 12 Championship is an example of what can happen to USC when the defense folds and the offense is lackadaisical.

That lackadaisical offense is going to have some trouble against Wisconsin’s defense. The Badgers allow only 13.1 points per game. Opponents average a measly 98 rushing yards and 168.9 passing yards against Wisconsin’s stout defense. Wisconsin’s 3 losses during the season were to teams with defenses comparable to theirs: Alabama, Iowa and Northwestern. USC isn’t going to know what hit them.

Pick: Wisconsin +3

  • San Diego State  -1.5
  • No. 11 North Carolina +1.5
  • Wisconsin +3
  • Colorado State -3
  • Mississippi State  -5
  • UCLA -6.5
