College football has a special place in my heart because every week there are always small colleges that show up and upset the big blue-chip programs. Here is my list of projected straight-up moneyline upset alerts for College Football Week 6 action.
College Football SU ML Upset Alerts Week 6
Iowa +170 at Michigan
Michigan bounced back after the stunning 14-35 loss to Wisconsin with a massive 59-0 victory over Rutgers. Wait a second…Rutgers? Yeah, that doesn’t impress all that much. Iowa yields 8.5 points per game on average. Opponents amass 251 total yards per on average. The Hawkeyes should have no trouble taking it to the Wolverines in this matchup.
Tulane at Army +125
Tulane is a good squad, but should they be favored over Army on the road? Army’s lone loss this season was 21-24 in Ann Arbor against Michigan. The Black Knights should get their rushing attack going versus a Green Wave squad that yields 147.2 yards on the ground per game.
Central Florida at Cincinnati +160
UCF dominated the Bearcats 38-13 last season. That game took place in Orlando. Cincinnati gets to battle the Knights at home in this year’s rendition. Yes, UCF handled Stanford earlier in the season, but Cincy is a rival. The Bearcats are trending up after a massive 52-14 victory over Marshall in their last. Cincinnati’s D has yielded 13 points and 14 points in two wins since the 0-42 pasting against Ohio State. Bearcats will surprise.
TCU +155 at Iowa State
The only reason the Cyclones are favored here is that this game takes place in Iowa. The Clones have already lost a couple of super close contests: 17-18 versus Iowa and 21-23 against Baylor. TCU is undefeated this season. The Horned Frogs average 40.56 points. They can definitely score at least 21 to 24 against the Cyclones’ defense. That might be enough for the straight-up win on Saturday.
Baylor +110 at Kansas State
Outside of Oklahoma and possibly Texas, the Big 12 is loaded with similar teams. Here’s another matchup where the road team has a shot. Baylor is 4-0 this season. All 4 wins weren’t against cupcakes, either. They beat Iowa State 23-21 on Sep 28. Bears have a big shot of taking this matchup.
Washington at Stanford +450
Yep, Washington is favored to absolutely demolish the Cardinal on Oct 5. But, this is one of the best rivalries in the Pac 12. Stanford coach David Shaw is a master game planner, while Washington can come up with a dud once in a while. Check out the 19-20 loss to Cal back on Sep 7 for evidence.
