College Football Week 14 Upset Picks

There’s a good chance that Championship Week in College Football yields big upsets. Iowa against Michigan State is one upset that shouldn’t surprise anybody. But, backing the Hawkeyes to beat the Spartans isn’t one of this week’s absolute best upsets. Temple takes on Houston as a dog. North Carolina faces off against Clemson in the ACC Championship. Air Force battles San Diego State in a game that a lot of people may not pay attention to. Those 3 games are where excellent moneyline upset possibilities exist.

A Closer Look At The College Football Week 14 Upset Picks

No. 24 Temple at No. 21 Houston
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 12:00 pm ET
Odds: Temple +210 vs Houston -250

Analysis: Houston came roaring back after the big 17 to 20 upset loss to Connecticut two weeks ago by beating Navy 52 to 31 this past Saturday. Houston’s offense was on point when racking up 218 rushing yards and a huge 555 total yards versus Navy’s defense.

But the Cougars face a much better defense this Saturday with Temple. The Owls stubbed their toes in the 23 to 44 loss to South Florida on Nov. 14. Since that game, Temple has beaten Memphis 31 to 12 and Connecticut 27 to 3. Temple’s defense is going to control Houston’s offense while the Cougars’ defense will have no answer for Temple’s offense. The Owls win it straight up.

Pick: Temple +210

No. 11 North Carolina vs No. 1 Clemson
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 8:00 pm ET
Odds: UNC +185 Vs Clemson -215

Analysis: If it wasn’t for a ridiculous loss to South Carolina on September 3, North Carolina would be the second team from the ACC in the College Football Playoff. The Tar Heels have won 11 straight games since the college football opening night loss.

More impressively, the Heels are 8 and 4 ATS this season and have gone 4 and 1 ATS in their last 5 games. North Carolina faces its toughest foe in number one ranked Clemson on Saturday, but the Tar Heels appear well prepared for the challenge. Clemson hasn’t covered a spread in their last 4. The Tigers also weren’t very impressive against South Carolina in a 37 to 32 win this past Saturday. Expect the Tar Heels to win the ACC Championship outright on Dec. 5.

Pick: North Carolina

Air Force at San Diego State
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 pm ET
Odds: Air Force +210 vs San Diego State -260

Analysis: The Mountain West Conference Championship Game should be very interesting. Both Air Force and San Diego State have proven to be excellent teams. San Diego State has won 8 games in a row. The Aztecs went 7-0-1 against the spread in those 8 games.

New Mexico broke a 5 game Air Force winning streak when upsetting the Falcons 35 to 47 on Nov. 28. The Falcons signature victory during the streak was a 37 to 30 road win over Boise State. San Diego State’s defense has been awesome but it faces an Air Force rushing attack that averages over 323 yards per game. Air Force has a shot to win at big moneyline odds.

Pick: Air Force
