College Football Week 14 Betting Cheat Sheet

It’s Championship Week in College Football!  Florida battles Alabama for SEC supremacy. Stanford takes on USC for the Pac 12 title. In the ACC, North Carolina takes on the number one team in the nation, Clemson. In the Big Ten Michigan State takes on Iowa for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

College Football Week 14 ATS Picks

No. 20 Temple at No. 17 Houston
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 12:00 pm ET
Odds: Houston -6.5

Temple battles Houston as a +6.5 point underdog. Houston bounced back from the stunning loss to Connecticut two weeks ago by beating then 16th ranked Navy 52 to 31. Beating Temple by 6.5 points is going to be much more difficult to do.

The Temple offense is well-suited to control the clock against a Houston defense that isn’t always on its toes. Expect the Houston offense to have some trouble versus the Owls defense, which yields an excellent 328 yards per game.

Pick: Temple

No. 18 Florida vs No. 2 Alabama
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 4:00 pm ET
Odds: Alabama -16.5

Florida is a huge underdog against Alabama. The Gators should be. Alabama’s defense is the absolute best in the nation.

Florida has had trouble scoring points in their last two games. Against Florida Atlantic, the Gators could only muster 20 in a 20 to 14 win. Versus Florida State at home, the Gators could only score 2 points in a 27 to 2 thrashing. Alabama should roll in this.

Pick: Alabama

No. 7 Stanford vs No. 24 USC
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7:45 pm ET
Odds: Stanford -4

Stanford is once again ranked in the Top 10 even though they have two losses. The Cardinal battles a USC team that they beat 41 to 31 earlier in the season.

The Trojans got somewhat better late in the regular season. USC won 5 out of their last 6 games. They beat UCLA in the huge rivalry game this past Saturday.

But, Stanford only lost by 2 points to Oregon three games ago. The Cardinal also beat Notre Dame 28 to 26 in their last. Stanford should have no trouble covering a 4 point spread.

Pick: Stanford

College Football Week 14 Game Total Over/Under Picks

Bowling Green vs. Northern Illinois
When: Friday, Dec. 4 at 8:00 pm ET
Total: 71

Bowling Green’s offense averages over 44 points per game. Northern Illinois’ offense averages 34.6 points per game.

But, Northern Illinois’ defense is very good. It allows only 391.8 yards and 24.8 points per game. This doesn’t feel like a shootout. Expect this game to go under.

Pick: Under

Texas at No. 12 Baylor
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 12:00 pm ET
Total: N/A

The Over/Under hasn’t been set yet because nobody knows who will play QB for Baylor.

Last season, Baylor beat Texas 28 to 7.

Expect a similar game this season. It’s not likely that Jarrett Stidham will play, meaning that QB Chris Johnson will sit under center for Baylor. Johnson is likely to just hand the ball off to running backs Shock Linwood, Devin Chafin and Johnny Jefferson. Expect another under game for the Bears and Longhorns.

Pick: Under

Southern Miss at Western Kentucky
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 12:00 pm ET
Over/Under: 71

Southern Miss takes on Western Kentucky in a game that should go over by a country mile. Southern Miss averages an incredible 534.8 yards per game. The Golden Eagles average 41.7 points per game. Western Kentucky hasn’t lost since Notre Dame beat them 48 to 20 on Oct. 24. The Hilltoppers are on a 4 game win streak because their offense averages over 44 points and close to 520 yards per game.

Pick: Over

College Football Week 14 Straight Up Moneyline Picks

No. 8 North Carolina vs No. 1 Clemson
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 8:00 pm ET
Odds: Clemson -5.5

Clemson is ranked number one for a reason. The Tigers are undefeated. Clemson and Iowa are the only two undefeated teams left in any of the Big 5 Conferences.

Being undefeated isn’t going to help Clemson against North Carolina this Saturday. The Tar Heels have won 11 straight games. They’ve gone 8 and 3 against the spread in those games. North Carolina should upset the Tigers on Dec. 5.

Pick: North Carolina

No. 5 Michigan State vs No. 4 Iowa
Odds: Michigan State -4
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 8:00 pm ET

Michigan State takes on Iowa in a surprise matchup for the Big Ten Championship. Nobody expected Iowa to make it to the Big Ten Championship much less reach the game with an undefeated record.

Michigan State beat a lackluster Ohio State two games ago to secure their position in this game. The Spartans didn’t let up last week with a 55 to 16 beat down of Penn State. Sparty should keep the good times rolling against Iowa.

Pick: Michigan State

West Virginia at Kansas State
When: Saturday, Dec. 5 at 3:30 pm ET
Odds: West Virginia -6

West Virginia has been on a roll. The Mountaineers have won their last 4 games. They’ve won their last 2 games by a combined 79 to 6, 49 to 0 over Kansas and 30 to 6 over Iowa State.
Kansas State hasn’t been nearly as impressive. But, the Wildcats take on West Virginia at home in this matchup. Kansas State usually plays well at home. Plus, West Virginia is due for a letdown after 2 big wins in a row.

Pick: Kansas State
