College Football Week 15 Upset Picks

Conference Championships set things up for a few terrific College Football Week 15 Upset Picks. Florida State has been beating back losses all season. They face a motivated Georgia Tech on Saturday. Also on Saturday is Alabama looking to crush Missouri as a big favorite while on Friday is the Pac 12 Championship rematch between Arizona and Oregon.

Analyzing My College Football Week 15 Upset Picks

No. 11 Arizona Wildcats vs. No. 2 Oregon Ducks
When:  Friday, Dec. 5 at 9:00 pm ET
Betting Line: Oregon -13.5

Analysis: This is a rematch of an Oct. 2 game where the Wildcats beat Oregon, up in Oregon, 31 to 24 as a 21.5 point underdog. Arizona was spectacular in that game. They held the Ducks to a 3.5 per average rush and held likely Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota to 276 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Since the loss, Oregon has gone 7 and 0 both straight up and against the spread. The Ducks are on an absolute roll, but Arizona has a secret weapon in freshman running back Nick Wilson who averaged over 7 yards a carry versus Oregon’s defense. If Arizona plays this smart, if they continually rush the ball with Wilson, they should upset Oregon against the spread.

College Football Week 15 Upset Pick: Arizona +13.5

No. 2 Florida State Seminoles vs. No. 12 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
When:  Saturday, Dec. 6 at 3:30 pm ET
Betting Line: Florida State -3.5

Analysis: Florida State’s defense is giving up an average of 145.8 yards per game on the ground. The Seminoles are allowing 22 points per game while the offense is averaging a bit less than 35 points per game. Florida State has covered only 2 spreads in their last 7 games.

Georgia Tech has won 5 games in a row since back-to-back losses to Duke and North Carolina. The offense has been explosive. It’s averaging more overall yards than Florida State, 470 per game, and more points than the Seminoles, 37.2 per game, while the defense has been just good enough.

The Yellow Jackets shouldn’t falter in this one, meaning that there is a good chance that Florida State gets knocked out of the College Football Playoff on Saturday. Eventually, every team’s luck runs out and the Seminoles have been very lucky this season.

College Football Week 15 Upset Pick: Georgia Tech +3.5

No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. No. 13 Missouri Tigers
When:  Saturday, Dec. 6 at 4:00 pm ET
Betting Line: Alabama -13.5

Analysis: How tough is Alabama? Down 26 to 21 at halftime in the Iron Bowl, Crimson Tide fans had every right to be worried. Auburn had beaten Alabama off of the miracle missed field goal run back last season in the Iron Bowl and a loss looked assured this past Saturday since the Tide defense couldn’t stop Auburn’s offense and ‘Bama’s QB, Blake Sims, looked terrible.

But, Alabama came back big time. The Tide stormed through Auburn, outscoring that opponent 34 to 18 in the second half, for a 55 to 44 victory. It was such a huge victory though that it will be difficult for Alabama, who is only 4 and 8 against the spread this season, to cover yet another spread against Missouri.

The Missouri Tigers were awesome last Saturday when beating Arkansas 21 to 14. Not only did they score 21 points against a team that had shut out its last 2 conference opponents, but Mizzou did it while being down 14 to 6 at halftime. Alabama better be careful of the “bounce” performance in the SEC Championship or a loss against the spread may not be the only “L” they get on Saturday.

College Football Week 15 Upset Pick: Missouri +13.5
