College Football Week 9 Betting Cheat Sheet – ATS + Total + Moneyline Picks

Week 9 is here in College Football. A lot of Top 10 teams are on a bye this week since next week is setting up as one of the most important of the season.

Just because a lot of the Top 10 teams are on a bye, it doesn’t mean that we won’t have our usual group of great ATS, Over/Under and Moneyline wagers for Week 9. One top game pits Florida on the road against Georgia. Miami travels to Duke to try and shrug off the 0 to 58 loss to Clemson while Notre Dame battles Temple in the game of the week.

College Football Week 9 ATS Picks

USC at California
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3:00 pm ET
Odds: USC -5.5

USC beat Utah and California lost to UCLA. Everybody is once again all gaga over the Trojans while calling California a paper tiger. That’s too bad. USC is playing well. They just beat one of the top ranked teams in the nation in Utah 42 to 24 this past Saturday.

But, California has a much better overall offense than Utah. Also, the Golden Bears get USC at home for this game. Cal with their over 500 yards per game and around 38 points per receiving plus odds at home?  You have to jump on it, right?

Pick: California

No. 11 Florida at Georgia
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3:30 pm ET
Odds: Georgia +3

Florida got a bye after the 28 to 35 loss to LSU. The Gators’ defense should be on track for this. Leonard Fournette was awesome for LSU against Florida a couple of weeks ago. He rushed for 180 yards.

Georgia’s top rusher, Nick Chubb, is out for the season with a knee injury. Georgia could only muster 298 total yards including 120 on the ground in a 9 to 6 win over Missouri. The Bulldogs per rush average ended up at 2.7 a carry.

Georgia will play hard, but Florida is just the better team in this matchup. The Gators should easily cover the spread.

Pick: Florida

No. 14 Oklahoma at Kansas
When: Saturday, Oct.31 at 3:30 pm ET
Odds: Oklahoma -38.5

The Sooners have gone 2 and 0 straight up and ATS since losing 17 to 24 to Texas in the Red River Rivalry. Oklahoma has beaten Kansas State 55 to 0 and Texas Tech 63 to 27.
Kansas isn’t nearly as talented as Kansas State or Texas Tech. The Jayhawks are 0 and 7 straight up and 2 and 5 against the spread this season. They lost 10 to 58 to Oklahoma State in their last. The Sooners cover with ease.

Pick: Oklahoma

College Football Week 9 Game Total Over/Under Picks

No. 12 Oklahoma State at Texas Tech
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3:30 pm ET

Oklahoma State has a decent defense. The Cowboys allow only 18.9 points per game. That’s very good because Oklahoma State’s offense scores over 40 per matchup.
Texas Tech is the type of team that will give up points, but score more in return. The Red Raiders average over 46 points a game while allowing 40 points a game. That comes out to over 80 points. At home, the Red Raiders should score even more. Expect a high-scoring game.

Pick: Over

Miami at No. 22 Duke
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7:00 pm ET

Points should be difficult to come by in this matchup. Miami’s defense just isn’t very good. It allows 27 per game, but the offense doesn’t score a lot while Duke’s defense is awesome.

The Dookies allow less than 15 points and less than 282 total yards per matchup. The Blue Devils should be able to keep Miami from scoring a lot of touchdowns while Miami’s defense is much better than the 0 to 58 loss to Clemson implies.

This one should go under.

Pick: Under

No. 15 Michigan at Minnesota
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7:00 pm ET

Expect the Wolverines to come out fired up after the strange way in which they lost to Michigan State a couple of weeks ago. The defense will definitely get back to its averages of allowing 9.3 points and 210.6 yards per game.

Minnesota doesn’t often give up a lot of points either. Teams average only 23.1 versus the Golden Gophers’ defense. Teams go for 328.7 yards per game. Since Michigan’s offense is based on running the football, expect another under game.

Pick: Under

College Football Week 9 Straight Up Moneyline Picks

North Carolina at No. 23 Pittsburgh
When: Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 pm ET

Pittsburgh is the ranked team. The Panthers have an excellent defense that allows only 21.6 points per game on average, and the Panthers get the Tar Heels at home.

But, North Carolina has been great since a Week 1 loss to South Carolina. The Heels have run off 6 straight wins. North Carolina is average 38 points per game while holding its opponents to only 16.7 per. North Carolina wins this.

Pick: North Carolina

Oregon at ASU
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 at 10:30 pm ET

ASU does well when its defense plays well. The Sun Devils’ defense is based on rushing the passer. They did it with regularity in the 38 to 23 win over UCLA.

Oregon is all about putting points on the board. QB Vernon Adams is good enough to beat the ASU blitz. Oregon is finally getting healthy on the defensive side of things. The D played exceptionally well in the Ducks’ 26 to 20 win over Washington in Oregon’s last.
Expect the Ducks to win this Pac 12 road game.

Pick: Oregon

No. 9 Notre Dame at No. 21 Temple
When: Saturday, Oct. 31 at 8:00 pm ET

Notre Dame is a big road favorite against a Temple team with a defense that might be as good as the Irish’s. Temple is allowing only 14.6 points and 307 yards per matchup.

The Owls are undefeated. They’ve won 7 straight games including beating ECU 24 to 14 on the road in their last. Temple should be able to contain Notre Dame’s offense while being patient when they have the ball on offense.

The Owls get the big time upset on Saturday night.

Pick: Temple
