Expert Picks College Football Week 5Josh Bailey
I have a trio of betting picks for Week 5 of college football that you shouldn’t pass up. My expert picks will put cash in your pocket as soon as this upcoming weekend.
Expert Picks College Football Week 5
My College Football Week 5 Expert Picks start this Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12:00 pm. Will #18 South Florida cover a massive spread on the road versus East Carolina?
I also like a couple of evening games on Sep. 30. How is #2 Clemson going to fair ATS versus #12 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia?
Also, will #6 Washington cover a -27 spread on the road against Oregon State?
#18 South Florida at East Carolina
When: Saturday, Sep. 30 at 12:00 pm pm ET
Where: Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, Greenville, NC
Odds: South Florida -26
Analysis: South Florida keeps climbing up the rankings. The Bulls are now ranked in the Top 20 after beating Temple 43 to 7 as a -18 favorite in Week 4.
South Florida isn’t a joke of a team. Every week, the Bulls get better. They beat San Jose State 42 to 22, Stony Brook 31 to 17, and Illinois 43 to 23 before dominating Temple.
South Florida is 5 and 0 ATS in the last 5 meetings with East Carolina. It sure appears as if South Florida dominates on Saturday.
Expert Pick Week 5: South Florida -26
#2 Clemson at #12 Virginia Tech
When: Saturday, Sep. 30 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Lane Stadium, Blacksburg, VA
Odds: Clemson -7
Analysis: College Football Week 5’s marquee battle has Clemson traveling to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech. The Hokies are 3 and 1 straight up and 3 and 1 against the spread.
Let’s not kid ourselves, though. VA Tech hasn’t come close to facing a team as talented as Clemson. Does that mean the Hokies are a paper tiger? I don’t think so.
Virginia Tech is 5 and 1 ATS in their last 6 home games. The home team in this series is 5 and 2 ATS in the last 7 while Clemson is 1 and 4 ATS in their last 5 against a conference opponent.
I’ll side with the Virginia Tech Hokies in this key ACC matchup.
Expert Pick Week 5: Virginia Tech +7
#6 Washington at Oregon State
When: Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6:00 pm ET
Where: Reser Stadium, Corvallis, OR
TV: Pac 12
Odds: Washington -27
Analysis: Washington’s 37 to 10 beat down of Colorado as a -11-road favorite in Week 4 is a sign that the Huskies are for real. If any team in the Pac 12 should have challenged Washington, it’s Colorado at home.
-27 is a lot of points to give up in a road tilt versus a conference opponent. Oregon State is one of the worst teams in all of college football, though. In Week 4, the Beavers lost 23 to 52 to Washington State.
This should be one of the bigger blowouts in College Football Week 5.
