Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Expert Betting PickNoah Williams
Its hard to believe that after going an embarrassing 2-10 a season ago, the Air Force Falcons rebounded in 2014 with a Famous Idaho Bowl invitation after an impressive 9-3 record. The Western Michigan Broncos also fought back after a terrible in 2013 season where they went 1-11 while coming back in 2014 to go 8-4.

Why Air Force Will Win the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
The Falcons will win this contest because they’ve gotten hot at just the right time, winning four of their final five games, including their season-ending Mountain West Conference win over a very, very good Colorado State team they were huge, 7.5-point home underdogs against.
The Falcons are also looking like a great pick to cash in after opening as 3-point underdogs, but moving to 1.5-point favorites, which seems to suggest there’s something oddsmakers know that we don’t. The Falcons are also playing their best offense of the season right now after scoring 44 or more twice in their last three games after topping the 40-point plateau just twice in their previous nine games.
The Falcons are 3-7 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Why Western Michigan Will Win the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Western Michigan will win this contest because they’ve got the better team in two of the three phases (offense and defense). The Broncos average 3.7 more points per game than the Falcons while also allowing .4 fewer points per contest defensively. Not only that, but Western Michigan has an elite running back that will likely be playing at the next level at some point in the near future in freshman Jarvion Franklin (1,525 yds).
Throw in the fact that the Broncos’ underrated – but very talented sophomore quarterback Zach Terrell completed a blistering 70.0 percent of his passes and it’s easy to see why the Broncos will come out on top.
The Broncos are 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Who Will Win the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl?
I like the way Air Force has played as of late, but for me, all signs are pointing to a solid, if not overpowering, win by Western Michigan in this matchup. The Broncos won five of their seven road games this season while posting a 10-2 ATS mark that led the nation. With the Broncos getting their six-game SU – and incendiary 10-game ATS – winning streaks snapped the last time out, I believe the Broncos are going to come out and jump all over the Falcons right from the start! Besides, Air Force is just 3-7 ATS in its L/10 games against teams with a winning record.
