Analyzing The Fresno State at Boise State Mountain West Championship Football Line
Based on stats, Boise State should cover the large spread with ease. Fresno State averages 420.2 yards and 29.2 points per game on offense but on defense the Bulldogs allow 468.5 points and 33 points per matchup. That is not a misprint. Fresno State is in the Mountain West Championship even though they have a .500 record and are allowing more points and more yards to their opponents then they are racking up on offense!
The Bulldogs are also only 6 and 6 against the spread. They did, however, lose by only 10 points to Boise State over the blue field in a 27 to 37 game as a +17.5 point underdog. Perhaps, that is why 39% of football handicappers are giving the Bulldogs the benefit of the doubt in this game.
But, then, football handicappers only have to take a look at what Boise State has done in its last 2 games in order to see that Fresno State probably has no shot of keeping this contest close. Boise State has really turned it on in the last two weeks. The Broncos destroyed Wyoming on the road 63 to 14 before putting a beating onto a decent Utah State team 50 to 19. Boise State’s offense is finally clicking so that the Broncos are averaging 513.4 yards per game and 40.8 points per.
Since Fresno State’s defense gives up so many points on average, Boise State could easily score 50 or more points in their third game in a row. Boise State is much better at home as well. The Broncos are 4 and 2 against the spread in their home games this season.

Other college football betting trends point to a Boise State victory against the spread. The Broncos are 8 and 3 against the spread in their last 11 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The favorite is 11 and 2 against the spread in the last 13 meetings between these two and Fresno State is 2 and 12 against the spread in the last 14 meetings. The Bulldogs are also 1 and 6 ATS in the last 7 meetings at Boise State.

Fresno State played Boise State very tough in the October game, but that was before the Broncos turned into a Top 25, dominant, team. Boise State is too strong offensively, and Fresno State is too bad defensively, for the Bulldogs to keep this one close.
Boise State should cruise to yet another Mountain West Conference Championship on Saturday night.
