FSU vs. Georgia Tech ACC Championship Betting OddsJosh Bailey
Before the season if someone had said that No. 3 Florida State vs. No. 16 Georgia Tech ACC Championship betting odds would only favor FSU by 3.5 points, that someone would have been laughed out of the building.
But, here we are, in the ACC Championship and undefeated Florida State is indeed only a -3.5 point favorite over Georgia Tech. What’s crazy is that the spread appears to be changing in favor of Georgia Tech as well. By the time that they kick this one off, Florida State might only be a 1.5 point favorite.

Analyzing The Florida State vs. Georgia Tech ACC Championship Betting Odds
Florida State wasn’t really playing all that well as it is. The Seminoles probably should have lost to Notre Dame back on Oct. 18. The phantom pass interference call saved the Seminoles that day. Louisville had a huge lead over FSU before imploding in the second half and losing the game. Miami had a lead going into the final 3 minutes in their matchup versus Florida State before losing that game.
So, the fact that Florida State is such a tepid favorite against an extremely good Georgia Tech team shouldn’t surprise any football bettors. Georgia Tech’s offense is arguably the best in the nation when it comes to rushing the football. The Yellow Jackets average 333.8 yards per game on the ground. Georgia Tech racked up an amazing 251 rushing yards on the ground versus the Clemson Tigers, which has the sixth best rushing defense in the nation.

Florida State’s defense, although good, allows 145.8 yards per game on the ground. Georgia Tech has a chance to control this contest from the outset with their running game. If they can keep Florida State’s quarterback, Jameis Winston, on the sidelines Georgia Tech will win this ball game straight up.
Speaking of Winston, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner is having a really bad week. On Tuesday, there was a student conduct hearing at Florida State in regards to a sexual assault accusation towards Winston from 2012. The hearing was expected to resume on Wednesday.
Winston could be in some serious trouble here. If things do not go his way, how might the starting QB react? He threw 4 interceptions in the Florida game and Georgia Tech is a much better team than Florida. Even if the hearing shakes out well for Winston, this has to be hurting Florida State’s preparation against Georgia Tech.

The Yellow Jackets have been on a roll lately. They’ve gone 5 and 0 both straight up and against the spread in their last 5 games. They didn’t score less than 28 points in a single one of those 5 matchups and they scored more than 30 twice and more than 50 twice.
The Seminoles could be in trouble. In addition to the distractions, they face a team on Saturday in the Yellow Jackets who might actually be better than they are. Florida State’s undefeated season may come crashing down big time in the ACC Championship game.
