Bet The Tennessee Volunteers at +3 Because…
Look, there’s no other way to say…except to say that Tennessee is a complete mess right now. You see, it’s not that the Vols have lost two straight in falling to Florida and Arkansas most recently, its how Tennessee has lost that is most disconcerting.
In each of their three losses this season, the Volunteers have held fourth-quarter leads before falling apart late. In their Week 5 loss against the Razorbacks, the Vols blew a two-touchdown lead before falling.
"It is definitely frustrating," safety Brian Randolph said after the loss to Arkansas, via Tennessee’s official web site. "I know it’s frustrating for the fans, but we just have got to learn how to finish, finish out the game and keep jumping on them when they are down."
The Vols rank 10th in scoring (37.0 ppg) and a respectable 71st in points allowed (24.6 ppg).
Bet The Georgia Bulldogs at -3 Because…
Georgia had its dreams of a perfect season shattered by losing to longtime SEC rival Alabama 38-10 in Week 5, but the Bulldogs will have plenty of motivation to get back in the win column and keep their now-damaged playoff hopes alive.
Georgia looked absolutely phenomenal in winning their first four games of the season, which makes their poor performance against the Crimson Tide all the more perplexing. However, the fact remains that the Bulldogs have plenty of talent, starting with elite running back Nick Chubb.
The speedy sophomore has rushed for 745 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging a jaw-dropping 8.2 yards per carry. Chubb was Georgia’s best (only?) offensive player in their Week 5 loss to Alabama as he rushed for 146 yards on 20 carries
What Georgia needs is a better effort from quarterback Greyson Lambert . The junior signal-caller struggled immensely against Alabama by completing just 10 of 24 passes for 86 yards.
The Bulldogs average a stellar 38.4 points per game (24th) while also limiting their opponents to just 18.4 points per game defensively (28th).
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
Tthe Georgia Bulldogs were completely overmatched in their humbling Week 5 loss to Alabama, but that’s one of the reasons I believe the Bulldogs are a great pick to win this game outright and narrowly cover the spread.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an SU loss, 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and a consistent 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following an SU loss of more than 20 points. Conversely, Tennessee is just 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games versus a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games.
An overwhelming 68 percent of the betting public agrees with my pick that Georgia is the lesser of two evils in this Week 6 SEC showdown! My final score prediction is Georgia 28, Tennessee 24.
