Georgia Vs Auburn Betting Trends
It’s all fine and well that Georgia beat the hell out of Kentucky 42-13 in Week 12 and smacked around in-state rival Georgia Tech 38-7 on Saturday, but let’s be for real for a moment. This SEC championship matchup is all about whether or not you think the Bulldogs had a bad game against the Tigers in their 40-17 Week 11 road loss at Auburn or whether you believe the Tigers are just that much better than their SEC rivals.
Right now, 61 percent of public bettors like Auburn to win and cover the chalk as less than field goal favorites and I believe that’s undeniably the right call for one main reason. Auburn laid an emphatic 26-14 beatdown on might, No. 1 Alabama this past weekend that really removed all doubt about the legitimacy of their win over Georgia three weeks ago.
Auburn is playing phenomenal defense and has not allowed more than 17 points in each of their last three games while beating the No. 1 team in the country – twice – during the span! Let me repeat that, Auburn beat CFP No. 1 Georgia three weeks ago and just beat AP No. 1 Alabama this past Saturday. They topped the 24-point mark in both games while holding their conference rivals to 17 or less.
Georgia Vs Auburn SEC Title Expert Pick
I am predicting that the Tigers will beat the Bulldogs because of their powerful defense and the equally impressive rushing of Kerryon Johnson (1,276 yards, 17 TDs). Last but not least, I’ve got to eat some humble pie when it comes to Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham, who I trashed a couple of times earlier this season. Oops, my bad, he’s pretty damned good, if not outstanding – and he clearly won’t sot the Tigers games with foolish interceptions!
You shouldn’t expect Auburn to completely blow Georgia out of the water in this matchup, but I do like the Tigers to win and cover the chalk, mostly because of the aforementioned reasons surrounding their defense. Georgia is going to have a tough way to go when they’re forced to pass and that will be the difference in this huge SEC championship matchup!
