How To Bet The Mizzou Vs Kentucky 2.5-Point Spread

How To Bet The Mizzou Vs Kentucky 2.5-Point Spread

Kentucky’s other NCAA team will be in the SEC headlines this week when the Wildcats host the 2.5-point underdog Missouri Tigers. The game kicks off this Saturday, Sept 26th at 7:30 PM ET.

Mizzou has had frequent success since moving to the SEC in 2012. The Tigers have won 31 games while bulldozing their way to two SEC Championship games. Both SEC title games were losses to Auburn and Alabama. Kentucky has started their 2015 campaign on a good note, going 2-1 in their first three games.

Missouri didn’t look very good at all in squeaking past UConn 9-6 in Week 3 and never came close to covering the spread as a 21-point home favorite. The Tigers shut out the Huskies after giving up six first quarter points. Quarterback Maty Mauk completed 14 of 22 passes for 145 yards with one interception in the win.

Kentucky couldn’t maintain the momentum they built by beating South Carolina in Week 2 and comes into this Week 4 SEC showdown off a dismal 14-9 loss against Florida in Week 3 in which they failed to cover the spread as 3.5-point home underdogs. The Wildcats were limited to 115 rushing yards and just 126 passing yards in the loss and saw quarterback Patrick Towles limited to just 8-for-24 passing.

How To Bet This Game:

I don’t know what’s wrong with Missouri right now, but I still like the Tigers to win outright and cover the spread as a slight road dog against a Kentucky team they should be able to handle fairly easily in this contest.

Missouri is 14-3 ATS in their last 17 road games while Kentucky has gone 2-5 ATS in its last seven games, making the Tigers virtual locks to win and cash in despite the fact that a surprising 61 percent of public bettors likes Kentucky to cover the spread at home.

To summarize, I am picking Mizzou plus the points as the smart bet versus Kentucky. My Final score prediction is Missouri 24, Kentucky 17.
