Welcome to another post-Christmas college football feast. This time around we will be presented with a primetime collision between the ACC and SEC is set for the 18th edition of the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tenn. Originally played in Vanderbilt Stadium, the Music City Bowl was moved to Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, in its second year of existence, where it has remained.
Invited to the Music City Bowl this year are the Texas A&M Aggies and Louisville Cardinals. The two squads haven’t faced off since 1994, but the Aggies are 3-0 all time in the series.

Bet The Texas A&M Aggies +4.5 Because…
The Aggies have the better defense. Texas A&M started out the season going 5 and 0. Defensive coordinator John Chavis, who came over from LSU, appeared to have figured out how to coach the Aggie players. But, A&M ended up giving up 41 points to Alabama. That put the Aggies on a spiral where they lost 4 out of their last 7 games. One good note regarding the defense is that the Aggies held Western Carolina to 17, Vanderbilt to 0, and LSU to only 19 points in Texas A&M’s last 3 games.
Bet The Louisville Cardinals -4.5 Because…
Louisville’s offense improved in the final month of the season. The Cardinals hadn’t been scoring as frequently as they would have liked until the final month. Louisville beat Syracuse 41 to 17, they beat Virginia 38 to 31, they lost to Pittsburgh 34 to 45 and they beat Kentucky 38 to 24 in that final month. The Cardinals offense finally started clicking.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
Even though the Cardinals got their offense going in the last month of the season, the defense didn’t play all that well. Pittsburgh not only scored 45 points against Louisville’s D, but the Panthers also rushed for 244 yards and a 5.4 per carry average against the Cardinals. Texas A&M averages 171.7 rushing yards per game.
Texas A&M has won all three matchups in this series, the latest a 26-10 victory Nov. 12, 1994. If the Aggies’ defense comes to play and the rushing game is working, A&M should win this one.
My final score prediction is Texas A&M 38, Louisville 27.
