Bet on Iowa State Because…
Iowa State’s offense can score points. The Cyclones put up 42 against Baylor in their 42 to 45 loss. They scored 31 against Oklahoma State in their last in a 31 to 38 loss. Iowa State averages 394.8 yards per game. The Cyclones average 26.7 points per game.
Bet on Texas Because…
Texas is a desperate football team. There were such high hopes for the 2016 Texas Longhorns after they beat Notre Dame in overtime in their first game of the season. Texas jumped from being unranked to being ranked in the Top 15. Bad times for the fans at Austin ensued quickly after that. Texas has lost 3 straight games. No loss was as difficult to take as dropping the Red River Rivalry 40 to 45 to Oklahoma.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
The Longhorns are desperate for a win after suffering their third straight loss. What football handicappers may not know is that this will be Texas’s first game at home since the Longhorns beat UTEP 41 to 7 on Sept. 10. Texas was unbelievable in that game. The defense played as well as the offense.
Although Iowa State has covered in 4 straight games, I think that Charlie Strong gets the Longhorns to play with a lot more fire than they have been playing against the Cyclones this Saturday.
Texas isn’t a terrible team. Returning to Austin might just help the Longhorns regain some confidence. I like Texas to cover the spread in this one.
