College Football Lock Picks Week 8

Ohio State Vs Iowa Line & Final Score Prediction

College Football Lock Picks Week 8

My lock picks of Week 8 college football betting action starts with Wisconsin at Iowa. Can Wisconsin bounce back from a tough loss to Ohio State against rival Iowa? How will NC State respond against Louisville after blowing a game against Clemson? Can Michigan make it 2 covers in a row as a huge over 30-point favorite?

College Football Lock Picks Week 8

#10 Wisconsin at Iowa
When:  Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Kinnick Stadium, Iowa City, IA
TV: ESPN
Odds: Wisconsin -3

Analysis: Another important Big Ten game, another failure straight up but win against the spread for the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin managed to blow a lead against Ohio State this past Saturday. The Badgers lost 23 to 30 in overtime. But since they were 10-point dogs, they covered the spread…again.

Wisconsin has covered in 4 straight games. The Badgers have gone 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games. It’s hard to see how Iowa loses this game by only 3 points on Saturday.

Pick: Wisconsin

NC State at #7 Louisville
When: Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Papa John’s Stadium, Louisville, KY
TV: ABC
Odds: NC State +18

Analysis: Talk about a heartbreaker. North Carolina State had a chance to upset Clemson this past Saturday. NC State ended up losing 17 to 24. That more than gave the Wolfpack the win against the spread.

Like Wisconsin, NC State has won 4 straight against the spread. Also like Wisconsin, NC State only has 1 against the spread loss on the season. The Wolfpack are 5-1 ATS this season. Louisville should be able to put up points against NC State. But the Wolfpack has an offense that should keep this much closer than 18 points.

Pick: NC State

Illinois at #3 Michigan
When:  Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3:30 pm ET
Where: Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI
Odds: Michigan -35

Analysis: Illinois travels to Michigan to face a team that hasn’t been as good ATS in their last 4 games as they were to start the season. The Wolverines have gone 2 and 2 against the spread in their last 4 games.

But the Wolverines beat Rutgers 78 to 0 in their last game. Could Michigan step it up again versus Illinois as a 5 touchdown favorite?  They definitely could. We know how good Michigan is. A lot of us don’t know how bad Illinois is.

The Illini have gone 3 and 3 ATS this season. But Western Michigan and North Carolina have blown out Illinois. The Illini also lost to Purdue, a really bad Big Ten squad.

Michigan should easily cover the spread on Oct. 22.

Pick: Michigan
