Bet on Louisville at -14.5 Because…
QB Lamar Jackson cannot be stopped. Jackson completed 17 of 23 against Charlotte for 286 yards. He threw 6 touchdown passes. Jackson also rushed for 119 yards from 11 carries. He scored 2 touchdowns. It’s going to take a gargantuan effort from Syracuse’s defense to stop Lamar Jackson.
Bet on Syracuse +14.5 Because…
Syracuse’s defense was spectacular versus Colgate. The Orange held Colgate to 143 total yards Colgate averaged 1.4 yards per carry when rushing 32 times for 45 yards. Colgate averaged 4.1 yards per pass play. Syracuse smothered Colgate’s offense from the outset.
Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
Louisville is not Colgate. The Syracuse Orange figure to find that out in the first quarter when the Cardinals go absolutely nuts on offense. Louisville, with Jackson under center, is as good as any team that I’ve seen so far in college football.
The thing about the Cardinals that many forget is that Louisville already had one of the best defenses in the nation. Now, they have one of the best offenses. Syracuse should put up some points, but a lot of those points will be scored once Louisville takes their defensive starters off the field.
I see a game where Louisville scores close to 50 points while Syracuse rings in around 28. The Cardinals get an easy win on the road in the ACC. After this win, there’s no reason to believe Louisville won’t jump into the CFP discussion.
