Bet on Miami +6 Because…
Miami has played well in every game this season. Forget about the wins. Think
about how well the Hurricanes have played in their 2 losses. Against Florida State, Miami was in it until the very end. Against North Carolina, again, Miami was in it until the very end. The Hurricanes never give up.
Bet on Virginia Tech -6 Because…
Virginia Tech’s defense has been stunning in 3 out of the past 4 weeks. The Hokies beat Boston College 49 to 0 on Sept. 17. They drubbed East Carolina 54 to 17 on Sept. 24. On Oct. 8, Virginia Tech beat North Carolina 34 to 3. If the Hokies’ defense steps it up on Thursday night, Miami could be in some trouble.
Expert ATS Pick
I don’t think it’s a good idea to give up so many points to the Miami Hurricanes. Although North Carolina did beat Miami by 7 points, 20 to 13, in last Saturday’s game, the Canes played exceptionally well for most of the game.
Virginia Tech goes into this battle having lost 17 to 31 to Syracuse as a -23 road favorite. That’s a bad loss for the Hokies. I’m sure they’ll play much better against Miami than they did versus Syracuse.
But Miami is a much better team than Syracuse. Hurricane QB Brad Kaaya might be the best quarterback that Virginia Tech has faced this season outside of Joshua Dobbs at Tennessee.
Kaaya and Mark Richt’s leadership as the head coach could lead Miami to an upset win over the Hokies.
