NCAAF National Championship Picks

The College Football Playoff field has been set, the final rankings are out and Alabama held onto the No. 1 spot as expected.

We have two stellar bowl games heading into the national title shot. The Peach Bowl will pit the Crimson Tide against No. 4 Washington in Atlanta — a de facto home game for Nick Saban’s squad — while No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Ohio State will battle in the desert as Fiesta Bowl opponents.

NCAA Football National Championship Picks

It’s over and set for the 4-team College Football Playoffs, so just like a recent national election let’s make the best of it with my NCAAF National Championship Picks. We have yet to see if the NCAA Football betting favorite Alabama can close out an undefeated season, or if Clemson gets a rematch from last year’s championship game to Roll the Tide. Maybe Washington proves they can handle non-conference teams ranked in the top 100, or Ohio State shows that barely making the Final 4 doesn’t matter when the chips are down.

NCAAF National Championship Odds after Week 14

  • Alabama — 1/3
  • Ohio State — 4/1
  • Clemson — 6/1
  • Washington — 16/1

The Odds-On Favorite To Win The NCAAF National Championship: Alabama 1/3

I don’t like to recognize alleged dynasties or best coaches of all time, but I am having to recognize facts that Alabama and Nick Saban may be worthy of ALL that talk. Basic facts that Alabama has been the NCAA College Football Champion 5 of last 9 years and Saban is trying to go back-to-back National Titles here is just part of what they have done.

I am not a big fan of laying $300 to win $100 on such a big NCAAF Championship betting favorite as the Crimson Tide, but I don’t mind laying 2 touchdowns at $110 to win $100 on a solid football bet of 1 game against Washington.

Alabama is so superior to other College Football teams this year that they should not have a problem with Washington whatsoever. This may even feel like a neighborhood game to the Tide since they could almost jog to the Georgia Dome (again since they whipped Florida there last week) from where they are. Also, in the last 10 games this season, LSU is the Tide’s only opponent to stay within 17 points of these wrecking ballers – Cue Miley Cyrus!

I can understand Alabama will probably win the NCAAF National Championship in 2017, but they have to beat 2 teams with the 2nd team being a revengeful Clemson team in my opinion. I would rather bet the points on single games than lay those big betting odds for all or nothing. Bet them against Washington, and then make another choice when the next game comes up.

The Smart Pick To Win The NCAAF National Championship: Clemson 6/1

The Clemson Tigers, as far as your NCAAF National Championship Picks go, is your smart NCAA Football betting choice paying you 6 times your football bet if they win it all.

I was in Glendale, Arizona at that Championship game last year when Alabama beat them, and the only reason ‘Bama won was because of the Tigers’ horrible special teams play. They won’t let that happen again if they get there this year, and I think they will after a very hard fought battle against an overrated Ohio State team.

Clemson has been a bit under the radar this year for being a runner-up last year, and the fact they had a loss by a point to Pittsburgh should not enter your sports wagering mind. They have the MOST balanced team in the entire FBS with an overall offensive rank of No. 13 and overall defensive rank of No. 9. They should not be an underdog to Ohio State.

The Longshot Pick To Win The NCAAF National Championship: Washington 16/1

Before you just dismiss the Washington Huskies as an impossible College Football Playoff bet, consider they are 1 of 4 teams left with a payout of 16 to 1 on your sports betting amount. This isn’t probable but it is possible.

The Huskies have gotten hassled for a cream puff non-conference schedule for good reason, but what if their 10th ranked overall defense actually steps up and forces a couple turnovers from Alabama. That would then be a different game, and they would have one game left to glory. I don’t think it will do down like that, but for the speculative bettor it may be worth a football bet.
