NC State Vs Boston College Spread & ATS PickJosh Bailey
Can Boston College Hold Down the Fort as Home Dogs Against Visiting NC State in Week 11 ACC Clash?
Despite riding an impressive winning streak into their week 11 home matchup against an opponent that has lost two straight, Boston College is a surprising home underdog against NC State this coming weekend. The Week 11 college football betting spread favors the Wolfpack by a field-goal.
These two ACC rivals will square off at Alumni Stadium on Saturday at 2:30 PM ET with this matchup airing live on ESPN2. Now, let’s find out if the Eagles can hold down the fort at home to cover the chalk against the Wolfpack in what looks like one of the more exciting matchups on the entire Week 11 docket!

North Carolina State got smacked around pretty bad by Notre Dame in its 35-14 road loss in Week 9 and followed that up with a 38-31 home loss against Clemson this past weekend. The Wolfpack had won their previous six games prior to their modest two-game skid, but each of those victories came against teams with plenty of blemishes as they beat overmatched Marshall and Furman, a completely battered Florida State squad and three average teams in Syracuse, Louisville, and Pittsburgh. Still, NC State is getting a decent season out of quarterback Ryan Finley who has passed for 2,519 yards with 15 touchdowns and just three interceptions. The Wolfpack rank 37th in scoring (32.6 ppg) and 64th in points allowed (25.8 ppg).
Boston College is undoubtedly playing their best football of the season coming into this contest having beaten Louisville, Virginia and Florida State in their last three games while topping the 40-point plateau twice and scoring at least 35 points in all three games. Quarterback Anthony Brown has been solid, but certainly not anything to write home about in passing for 1,338 yards, with 11 TD passes and eight costly interceptions. Boston College does have a gifted running back in A.J. Dillon (843 yards, 7 Tds) and ranks 94th in scoring (24.3 ppg) and 51st in points allowed (24.8 ppg).
For me, I’m completely stunned that a whopping 68 percent of public bettors like NC State to win and cover the chalk in this contest. Boston College is well-rested after getting a bye this past weekend and they’re putting points on the board better than they have all season long.
The Eagles are a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last six games and a near-perfect 5-1 ATS in their last six home games against NC State, so again, I’m really stunned the Wolfpack are favored. This is one of those games where the betting public is clearly in denial about the Eagles in my estimation. Boston College covers the chalk by winning outright, making them a great upset pick straight up.
Pick: Boston College +3
