Why Bet On TCU Over Oklahoma
TCU rebounded from its Week 9 loss to Iowa State to beat Texas 24-7 last weekend and keep their playoff hopes alive. The Horned Frogs shut the Longhorns out in the second half and have limited three of their last four opponents to seven points or less. The War Frogs’s powerful defense held Texas to a mind-boggling nine rushing yards on 26 carries while offensively, running back Darius Anderson rushed for one score and fellow back Kyle Hicks added two rushing scores in the win. Defensively, TCU is allowing just 13.9 points per game.
Why Bet On Oklahoma Over TCU
Oklahoma picked up an exciting win by beating in-state rival Oklahoma State 62-52 in a shootout of epic proportions. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was outstanding in completing 24 of 36 passes for a whopping 598 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. For the season, the Heisman Trophy-contending Mayfield is completing 71.7 percent of his passes for 3,226 yards with 28 touchdowns and five interceptions. Mayfield has thrown a mind-boggling 104 touchdown passes and just 20 interceptions over his last two-plus seasons!
TCU Vs Oklahoma Betting Predictions
This is a classic case of offense versus defense and I’d normally go with the stout defensive team to get the win, but not this time. While 55 percent of public bettors are going with the TCU Horned Frogs to cover the chalk as touchdown road dogs, I just don’t think there’s any stopping Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma’s high-powered offense. Not only that, but I’m thinking it’s about time for TCU’s Kenny Hill to have another bad game.
The Horned Frogs are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS win while Oklahoma has gone a near-perfect 8-1 ATS in their last 9 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in November and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Basically, I’m going with Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma’s offense to figure out a way to solve TCU’s outstanding defense this season to get the stunning double-digit win at home in what is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season for both teams.
Pick: Oklahoma -7
