Can Mayfield and No. 3 Oklahoma Cover Big Spread Against Lowly Kansas in Week 12 Conference Clash?
One-win Kansas has no chance of pulling off the outright upset over Baker Mayfield and the red-hot and now, third-ranked Oklahoma Sooners when they host their Big 12 conference rivals on Saturday. With that said, the only question that college football bettors need answering is whether or not the Jayhawks can cover the spread as insane five-touchdown underdogs!

NCAAF Odds: Oklahoma -35
Oklahoma had a tough matchup on their hands against nationally-ranked TCU this past weekend, but the Sooners came through in a big way by routing the Horned Frogs 38-20 as Baker Mayfield tossed three TD passes and no picks to continue stamping his name on this year’s Heisman Trophy. Unheralded running back Rodney Anderson also came up huge with 151 rushing yards and two scores on the ground while Oklahoma’s defense limited TCU to just six second-half points. For the season, Mayfield is completing an incendiary 71.2 percent of his passes for 3,559 yards with 31 touchdowns and just five interceptions while Oklahoma ranks fourth in the nation in scoring (44.3 ppg).
On the other side of the field, Kansas has been absolutely awful in dropping nine straight since winning their regular season opener. The Jayhawks got smacked around by Texas in their 42-27 road loss, but they did manage to cover the spread as 32-point underdogs while scoring the most points they have since Week 4.
Unfortunately for the Jayhawks, their good effort last weekend won’t get them much at all in this contest against an Oklahoma team that can score in bunches and has a ton of confidence after winning their last six games. If you didn’t know, Oklahoma has won a whopping 15 straight road games. Kansas is giving up an astounding 42.2 points per game and looks like a pitiful mid-major program right now.
The Sooners are a red-hot 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall while the Jayhawks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. If the 35-point spread looks a bit daunting, I say, don’t worry about it. Baker Mayfield and the streaking Sooners will cover it!
Pick: Oklahoma -35
