Why Bet The Oregon State Beavers To Beat The Trojans

Can the Beavers play a full 60 minutes? Last week the Beavers defense recorded three first-half sacks against the Huskies and went into the 2nd half down by one score. Then they let Washington score 35 points and lost the game. Opposing teams have outscored Oregon State by 147-49 in the second half in five games this season.

"We’re playing really hard," Senior QB Darell Garretson said. "We have guys that are always in the film room. Playing hard in practice; playing hard in the game. It’s not like we have guys easing up or anything. We’re fighting ’til the very last second. That’s all we can do."

Garretson has taken over for injured starting quarterback Jake Luton. Garretson completed 11 of 22 passes against Washington for only 74 yards.

Junior RB Ryan Nall is the bright spot for the Beavers. He posted 115 rushing yards and one touchdown against Colorado State in Week 1. He also rushed for 118 yards game and two scores against Washington State two weeks ago. If Nall can find holes, Oregon State might have a shot at covering the spread.

Why Bet The USC Trojans To Beat The Beavers

This sounds like a week for USC to overcome the injuries that led to a loss to Washington State last week. The Trojans were down three offensive linemen and started the game without starting outside linebacker Porter Gustin and starting wide receiver Steven Mitchell.

Has too much been asked of sophomore QB Sam Darnold who has thrown 8 interceptions and been sacked 9 times. Last season, he threw just 9 picks and was sacked only 6 times the whole season. Maybe it’s time to hand to ball off to junior RB Ronald Jones II a bit more.

Jones II is coming off a 128-rushing yard and one touchdown performance against the Cougars last week. In three of the four games he has played, Jones II has run for at least 115 yards per game. His yards per carry rate is a stellar 6.2. Oregon State gives up 202.2 rushing yards per game, that’s second-worst in the Pac-12. This is a game to hand the ball off and see what the Trojan run game can do.

If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On

  • Beavers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 conference games.
  • Beavers are 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 games in October.
  • Trojans are 30-12 ATS in their last 42 games following a straight up loss.
  • Trojans are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
  • USC has won seven of the last ten games against Oregon State.

Oregon State Vs. USC Week 6 Betting Tip

USC is 12-0 at home since Clay Helton became head coach in October 2015. In those games, the Trojans averaged 42.25 points per game, a considerable jump from the 27.9 points per game USC averaged in all road and neutral-site games over the same time frame.

I am riding those betting trends and backing USC.
