Parlay Pick College Football Week 6

2-Team Parlay Pick College Football Week 6

  • Louisville Cardinals
  • Miami Hurricanes

No. 17 Louisville (4-1) at NC State (4-1)
When: Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 8:00 PM ET
Where: Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh, North Carolina
TV: ESPN
Odds: Louisville -2.5

Analysis: No. 17 Louisville steamrolled Murray State 55-10 on Saturday as Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson passed for 349 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 100 yards and another score one week after throttling overmatched Kent State 42-3.

NC State got past Syracuse 33-25 on Saturday as quarterback Ryan Finley passed for 186 yards and one score while running back Nyheim Hines rushed for 115 yards and another touchdown. Backup running back Jaylen Samuels added 74 yards and another score and NC State limited the Orange to just 59 rushing yards.

With both of these ACC rivals allowing right around 24.0 points per game defensively, Louisville is the pick to win and cover as slight road favorites mostly because they have the gifted Jackson and the far more explosive offense.

Louisville has won three straight in this series including last season’s emphatic 54-13 win as a 19-point home favorite. The Cardinals also have the better head coach in this contest and have gone a blistering 21-7 in their L/28 road games against a team with a winning record. NC State cashed in for me two weeks ago as a double-digit road dog against Florida State, but they’re going to find stopping Lamar Jackson next to impossible as they fall at home and fail to cover the spread.

Pick: Louisville -2.5

No. 11 Miami (3-0) at Florida State (1-2)
When: Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 3:30 PM ET
Where: Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, Florida
Odds: Miami -3

Analysis: No. 11 Miami pounded Duke unmercifully in their 31-6 win this past Saturday as quarterback Malik Rosier threw for 270 yards with two touchdowns and one pick while rushing 15 times for an additional 45 yards and one score. However, it was the Hurricanes’ defense that really got the job done by limiting the Blue devils to just two first-half field goals to help them easily cash in as 5.5-point road favorites.

Florida State got its first win of the season by beating Wake Forest 26-19 this past weekend as young quarterback James Blackman threw for a modest 121 yards and one touchdown and running back Jacques Patrick rushed for 120 yards and another score.

While the Seminoles have won seven straight against Miami in this series, now is the perfect time for the canes to extract some revenge, even on the road in this ACC showdown.

Florida State is simply not the same team without star quarterback Deondre Francois as evidenced by the fact that they’re averaging just 18.0 points per game while Miami has been rock solid on both sides of the ball by putting up 41.3 points per contest and limiting the opposition to just 16.3 points per game.

Florida State quarterback James Blackman isn’t very good throwing the ball right now and that means Miami will beat the one-dimensional Seminoles on the road to cover the spread. With Miami going 5-0 ATS in their last five conference games, a blistering 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five road dates against Florida State, this Week 6 pick is as easy as pie!

Pick: Miami -3

3-Team Parlay Pick College Football Week 6

  • Louisville Cardinals
  • Miami Hurricanes
  • USC Trojans

Oregon State at No. 14 USC
When: Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 4:00 PM ET
Where: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California
NCAAF Odds: USC -34.5

Analysis: Oregon State has lost three straight and got embarrassed in their 42-7 Week 5 loss against No. 6 Washington as quarterback Darrell Garretson was limited to just 74 passing yards and the Beavers allowed the Huskies to roll up 506 yards of total offense. The lone bright spot for Oregon State was running back Thomas Tyner who picked up 54 yards and the beaver’s only touchdown on just nine carries.

Previously fifth-ranked USC got beat 30-27 by No. 11 Washington State this past Saturday as quarterback Sam Darnold completed just 15 of 29 passes for a modest 164 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. While running back Ronald Jones shined by rushing for 128 yards and one score on 14 carries, the Trojans allowed Washington State signal-caller Luke Falk to throw for 340 yards and two touchdowns in the loss while losing the turnover and time of possession battles.

I’m not really fond of this insane point spread, but I like a ticked-off USC squad to get the win and ATS cover mostly because Oregon State is playing absolutely awful football right now. The home team in this longtime Pac-12 rivalry is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the Beavers are just 1-4 ATS in their last five road dates against the Trojans. Sam Darnold hasn’t looked like the Heisman Trophy favorite he was when the season began, but he will in this one as USC wins and covers.

Pick: USC -34.5
