The Seminoles have proven themselves worthy

The Demon Deacons are in for a long afternoon if they cannot get their defense on the same page, this weekend they play host to #3 Florida State who is coming off a very impressive win over their state rival Miami Hurricanes. Wake Forrest will have to see what they do in order to slow down the Seminoles running game, which is their primary weapon; especially in the red zone. From a passing point of few the Demon Deacons have more to compete with but they still lack the top receiver that can make that over the top play to shift the momentum.

Florida State has a relatively easy remaining schedule but it will not be easy as they are competing with the Ducks for that second spot in the rankings and a chance at the BCS title game. The Seminoles will not have to worry about in this game but I can see them wanting to make a statement, look for their defense to really smother Wake and stop all attempts at moving the chains in the running game. The Seminoles will look to play more man coverage over the middle and leave an extra pass rusher to get after the QB.

Wake Forest is ACC conference team so they know what to expect, they have not beaten the Seminoles in over a decade and who knows just how motivated they are. Wake is coming off a terrible outing against Syracuse who beat them 13-0. I was impressed with their overall defense their issues came from the offensive side of the ball, receivers dropping passes and penalties that coasted them over 75 yards in the game, something they simply cannot afford to repeat against a team like Florida State.

What to expect:

Florida State is -37.5 in this game and I see them not only covering that spread but I see the Demon Deacons scoring if there are truly lucky a field goal all game. The Seminoles defense is just too compact and fast off the line; they will bother the opposing QB too much to really get a clear view as to where the ball needs to go. Take the Seminoles, they will clean house in this game.
