This simply has not been the year for the UAB Blazers

This will still be a fun Conference USA game to watch as both will go for each other’s throats as they have been rivals for years now. Rice has gotten the better of the Blazers in the last few seasons but no matter how bad it’s going for either team it’s always an entertaining one to see. I expect a good running game from both teams in this match up.

Rice Owls vs. UAB Blazers
The Rice Owls will meet the UAB Blazers in the NCAAF week 13.
Starts: 11/21/2013 7:30PM
Legion Field, 400 Graymont Avenue West
Birmingham, Alabama

The Owls come into this with the top ranked offense in the conference, their QB has 13 touchdowns to only 3 picks and they look to improve on that in this game for sure. Rice seems to always get out to a slow start but picks things up as they running game gets better yardage, they flip back and forth between their passing game and their running attack making them hard to figure out but they have to improve their defense if they really want to make an impact.

UAB is have a bad season, ranked at the bottom of the USA conference with a 2-8 record, they have only beaten one conference team this season. They have some new faces on offense that has made things harder on their third year QB but they can still score so Rice cannot come into this game expecting that they have already won it.

What to expect:

I think this will be an evenly matched game in the first half but I do see the Owls turning the heat on after halftime and finding the end zone while also getting the defensive stops they need. I think that Rice will win this game with their outside passing game and pocket savvy QB that is not afraid to run the ball and create when everything else breaks down.
