Last week college football was full of upsets even without a single top-25 team played another top-25 team.
Here are last week’s top upsets:
- No. 21 Maryland fell to Temple, 20-17
- The Citadel upset Georgia Tech, 27-24
- Eastern Michigan beat Illinois, 34-31
- Air Force upset Colorado, 30-23
- BYU outlasted No. 24 USC, 30-27 in OT
Now let’s review which College Football Week 4 games are in line for a straight-up moneyline upset.
College Football Week 4 Straight-Up Moneyline Upset Alerts
UL-Lafayette +145 at Ohio
The Ohio Bobcats could just as easily be 3-0 straight up as they are 1-2 straight up. The Bobcats fought gallantly against Marshall in a 31-33 loss in Week 3, which is why they’re a play against to beat the Ragin’ Cajuns in this. UL-Lafayette averages 46.7 points per while allowing only 19.3 per. They’re going to cut up the Bobcats and put them in the ULL gumbo.
Upset Alert: UL-Lafayette
Michigan +150 at Wisconsin
Michigan was the preseason favorite to beat Wisconsin. No, really. The Wolverines were the faves against the spread before either team kicked it off. Since play started, the Badgers have dominated with 2 wins both SU and ATS. But Michigan throttled Wisconsin 38-13 last season while the Badgers have a slight paper tiger look about them after beating up South Florida and Central Michigan. Harbaugh’s troops get it done.
Upset Alert: Michigan
Auburn +160 at Texas A&M
This is an awful matchup for the Texas A&M Aggies. No doubt, the crazy, most likely shirtless male fans and bikini-clad female fans in College Station are going to go mad over their Ags on Sunday to dominate Gus Malzahn’s Auburn squad. The craziness will dissipate after the fans realize that Auburn’s defensive line can do whatever it wants to Texas A&M’s offensive line. Auburn wins this SEC West showdown.
Upset Alert: Auburn
Oklahoma State +170 at Texas
Oklahoma State is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Texas. Sure, we’re playing the Cowboys on the moneyline, but the spread line gives us a clue as to what might happen on the ML. The line went from Longhorns -9.5 to -5. Oklahoma State averages 49.3 points per. LSU exposed Texas’ defense. This sure looks like a good game to back to the dog on the moneyline, right?
Upset Alert: Oklahoma State
Notre Dame +450 at Georgia
Georgia dominated a good Arkansas State team 55-0 in Week 3. That’s why they’re two-touchdown favorites versus Notre Dame. The Irish offense got into a groove against New Mexico in their last, though, sending the Lobos back into the desert via a 66-14 whipping. Notre Dame should score versus Georgia’s untested defense. Take the Irish straight up.
Upset Alert: Notre Dame
Appalachian State +130 at North Carolina
Appalachian State averages 49 points per game off a dominant rushing attack that goes for 276.5 yards per. The Mountaineers’ defense isn’t great. But, App State might be catching UNC at the right time. The Tar Heels face the Mountaineers after tough games against South Carolina, Miami, and Wake Forest. App State pulls off the moneyline upset victory.
