Why Bet On #3 TCU (-7.5) to Beat Texas Tech
The Horned Frogs’ makeshit D won’t slow the Red Raiders.
The Horned Frogs have one of the top quarterbacks in all of college football. Heisman Trophy candidate Trevone Boykin has been awesome so far this season. He’s completing 65.7% of his passes. He’s thrown for 985 yards. He’s thrown only 3 interceptions to 10 touchdowns. Boykin dominated SMU in TCU’s last game, a 56 to 37 win. He passed for 454 yards and 5 touchdowns to only a single pick.
Without a doubt, Boykin is going to present problems for Texas Tech’s defense in this game. TCU beat Texas Tech 82 to 27 in last year’s matchup between these two. You didn’t read that wrong. The Horned Frogs scored 82 points against the Red Raiders last season. Boykin passed for 433 yards. He threw 7 touchdown passes and no interceptions. TCU was absolutely unbelievable in that game. The Horned Frogs racked up 785 yards.

The betting line is much easier this season than it was last season for the Horned Frogs. If Boykin is even three-quarters as effective against the Red Raiders this season as he was last season, TCU could win this game and cover the spread.
Why Bet On Texas Tech to Beat #3 TCU (-7.5)
Horned Frogs QB Trevone Boykin is 3rd in the 2015 Heisman Watch.
Texas Tech is not going to give up 82 points in this game. The Red Raiders’ defense is much improved from last season. The Red Raiders gave up only 24 points to Arkansas in a huge 35 to 24 road victory in their last matchup. It was a statement victory for Texas Tech.

Now, the Red Raiders face TCU, one of the top teams in the nation. The defense only has to play okay against TCU’s terrific offense because the Red Raiders’ offense is plenty good enough to stick with TCU.
Texas Tech’s offense is ranked second in college football with 399 passing yards per game. Red Raiders’ QB Patrick Mahomes II has Boykin like numbers on the season. He has passed for 9 touchdowns to only 3 interceptions. He’s thrown for 1029 yards. Versus Arkansas, Mahomes II completed 86.7% of his passes.
TCU’s defense isn’t as good as it was last season. It’s yielding more yards and more points. For this game, TCU could be without safety Kenny Iloka, defensive end Mike Tuaua and defensive tackle Davion Pierson. DE James McFarland and LB Mike Freeze are already out indefinitely.
TCU could be in some trouble this Saturday. Texas Tech is much improved while the TCU defense has some injury issues. I am picking the Red Raiders to upset TCU. Bet Texas Tech at +265 on the college football week 4 money line. My final score prediction is Texas Tech 54, TCU 48.
